🌟👏Employee of the Month – November!👏🌟

It has been an absolute pleasure to present Jo Pickering, Beechwood’s Team Leader, with Employee of the Month for November!

After a very busy month with new admissions, Jo has gone above and beyond supporting residents, families, and staff, helping to warmly welcome all our new residents into the home.💙

Jo has gone out of her way to support new families, sprinkling a little bit of Beechwood magic to ensure all our new residents feel welcomed and well cared for.

A huge congratulations and thank you, Jo - very well deserved! ✨

🌟 Community in Action This Winter! 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to share our latest community programme with The Hinge Centre, helping keep vulnerable members of the Bridlington community warm this winter.

Alongside Foresters Lodge and Oaktree Hall and Lodge Care Home, residents, colleagues, families, and neighbours have been collecting warm winter clothing, essential supplies, and food donations to support those facing hardship and homelessness in Bridlington.

From winter coats and thermal layers to sleeping bags, flasks, camping items and thoughtful handwritten notes, donations are being lovingly gathered and distributed by The Hinge Centre to those most in need.

Here at Beechwood Care Centre, we have been working in collaboration with Quay Academy School and Little Bees Nursery as a community artwork project for the “Together we remember” event aligned with Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day. The residents have enjoyed looking at the beautiful artwork and choosing pieces to be displayed in their rooms. The home has been decorated with the lovely artwork and poems the children have created.

Today the children from Quay Academy have visited us here at Beechwood and have enjoyed looking through the East Riding Archives First World War archive boxes, looking at local soldier medals and death pennies, and looking at books detailing Bridlington soldiers that died in the First and Second World Wars. The children also had the chance to try on replica soldier uniforms.

We have all had the special experience of listening to resident and visitor memories of their time in service and memories of the Second World War. To finish off the reminiscence session we have all enjoyed a homemade poppy bun.
