Here at Beechwood Care Centre, we have been working in collaboration with Quay Academy School and Little Bees Nursery as a community artwork project for the “Together we remember” event aligned with Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day. The residents have enjoyed looking at the beautiful artwork and choosing pieces to be displayed in their rooms. The home has been decorated with the lovely artwork and poems the children have created.

Today the children from Quay Academy have visited us here at Beechwood and have enjoyed looking through the East Riding Archives First World War archive boxes, looking at local soldier medals and death pennies, and looking at books detailing Bridlington soldiers that died in the First and Second World Wars. The children also had the chance to try on replica soldier uniforms.

We have all had the special experience of listening to resident and visitor memories of their time in service and memories of the Second World War. To finish off the reminiscence session we have all enjoyed a homemade poppy bun.

Halloween Party at Beechwood Care Centre!

In the lead up to Halloween the residents carved pumpkins and made Halloween decorations to create a spooky atmosphere in the home.
The residents and their families enjoyed a spooky Halloween party filled with a Halloween quiz, bingo, and games like pin the eyeball on the zombie and Halloween ring toss. The residents enjoyed games made by little helper Archie like Trick or Treat, pass the pumpkin, and a competitive team race to make a mummy!

In the afternoon the residents enjoyed treats made by our chef Tracey whilst listening to Halloween music.

⭐️ Employee of the Month at Beechwood! ⭐️

Kevin, our home's Maintenance man, has been selected for Employee of the Month by staff in the home, alongside celebrating a very special birthday, where staff decorated the office and a special cake was made for him by our talented chef.

Having been with us since the first day, Kevin has been a constant support for the home, using his experience to help us through the commissioning process and our official opening!

Kevin wears so many different hats to support our residents, staff, and families.

He really is the heart of the home here at Beechwood.

💙 Supporting our Residents and their Family 💙

At Beechwood Care Centre, our team are proud to be specialists in dementia care, supporting residents and their families, as well being passionate about getting behind causes that raise awareness and understanding of the condition.

That’s why we’re so inspired by Luke Glover, who has taken on the Yorkshire Marathon and raised over £1,500 in aid of Alzheimer's Research UK.

Luke's incredible fundraising efforts are helping raise awareness of Familial Alzheimer’s Disease (FAD), a condition that affects his sister who is cared for at Beechwood Care Centre.

We’re honoured to stand beside Luke and his family as they help shine a light on a lesser-known condition and raise vital funds for research and awareness.

🩵 World Mental Health Day at Beechwood Care Centre 🩵

Today we joined the global celebration of World Mental Health Day, recognising the importance of looking after our wellbeing, both mentally and physically.

Our team came together to share simple ways to support one another, from stress balls and soothing face masks to calming teas and nourishing hand creams. These thoughtful touches remind us that small acts of care can make a big difference.

At Beechwood Care Centre, we know that by supporting each other, we’re able support those in our care more effectively, not just today, but everyday.

☕🍰 A warm Beechwood welcome! 🍰☕

To celebrate World Coffee Day, we hosted a special coffee and cake morning to welcome our new resident families into Beechwood Care Centre.

It was a wonderful chance to share stories, enjoy plenty of sweet treats, and most importantly, get to know our new families. At Beechwood, we believe families are a big part of our home and creating these moments helps build the friendships and support that make life here so special.

Keep an eye out on our page for more events in the next few weeks and months!

🎉☀ Beechwood Care Centre at the CYP Summer Gala! ☀🎉

What an amazing day we had at the CYP Summer Gala at Bridlington Sports Centre! Our fabulous team hosted a fun-filled tombola, with plenty of lucky winners walking away with prizes.

Thanks to everyone who came along, had a go and supported us. Together we raised a fantastic £70 for our Residents’ Activities Fund! This will go towards creating even more special moments and activities for our lovely residents.

A big shout-out to our brilliant staff for bringing their smiles, enthusiasm and a sprinkle of Beechwood magic to the day!
