50 burpees in November in aid of Alzheimer’s society.

Making sure we get it done even when not in the gym, involving the kids is always fun 😆

It looked easy on paper but when all your movements are being judged 1on 1 it really ups the pressure. (Thanks to Maddy for keeping me going- nice one coach 👍🏼)

I’ve been doing CrossFit now for around 9 months, gutted I didn’t find it sooner.

The community side of it is what most people love and I see why, everyone pushing each other to be better.

This was awful doing it but absolutely buzzing I got it done (with 8 secs to go)

Want to know how to keep the Calories down whilst still enjoying a drink?

Not all alcoholic drinks are created equal.

There are some types of beers or lagers that have a difference of around 15-20% calories depending on brand!

I used to have really bad habits and behaviours that actually got me into a bit of a bad place money wise,

I would constantly buy things on mail order (from catalogues back in the days before online)

I would do this to make myself happy and for people that I wanted to impress.

This was a very unhealthy habit and I got into debt

My need to impress people and friends was to cover up how insecure and unconfident I was.

This all gathered up and later on lead to depression and anxiety.

Now this is off on a bit of a tangent from drinking water in the morning,

But every habit has varying effects on us either physically or mentally.

Take some time and think about what habits or behaviours you have,

Are they working for you, or against you?

Ever thought to yourself that it’s too late for you to make a change?

So have many other guys that I have worked with.

Take Nathan, he was stuck in the same Groundhog Day processes day in day out,

He needed a direction and to make a change.

He didn’t want to be out of breath running after his little girl at the park anymore.

So he reached out after seeing me talk about me and my own story, about what I went through and how I changed things around.

We got him into some morning/evening routines, built some healthy habits and got him moving more whilst being more mindful about his nutrition.

It’s safe to say that even after the first few weeks things were already making a difference.

A good plan, some positive action, a change in mindset & accountability was all that was needed to turn things around!

It’s never too late to start changing your habits, building your own self-confidence and start Living With Intention!

Do you struggle with building healthy habits?

Do you sometimes struggle with having the confidence to start something new?

Yeah me too!

But I have learned a trick or two over the last few years that have really helped make them stick.

Studies show that it takes around 30-40 days for a habit to become…well a habit!

It’s called habit stacking, taking a new habit you want to instil into your life and adding it to something else you already do

Doing this will help start a new habit and getting the brain to adapt.

This is because the connections in our brains start to form and make new connections when we do something new.

This is known as nuero-plasticity & Nuero-genesis (basically just your brain growing & remembering what to do)
