So very proud and extremely happy to announce that I am officially part of the fabulous Arka Original Funerals celebrant family 😊

I have supported a number of families with Arka since last year and now I am featured on their website.

They certainly caught my good side 📷

I am still available for independent bookings and, of course, for weddings, naming ceremonies, vow renewals and all those other things celebrants do 🥚

A (not so) guilty pleasure of mine is BBC EastEnders and last night’s episode was a real emotional ride, with the death of Nigel.

The character (played fantastically well by Paul Bradley) has been living with dementia and the storyline highlighted the effect this can have on everyone. His final scenes showed the difficult, conflicting feelings his wife had of not wanting to say goodbye but at the same time not wanting her loved one to be in pain anymore - something similar to what I went through with my Mum.

The episode also showed how different people interact with death, those who are dying and grief - from young (who can understand more than their years) to more senior - and that all reactions are valid.

It was impressive acting all round, even down to how people’s breathing changes as their body relaxes, that will be really useful for people to see, so they can enter this stage with their loved ones, informed.

And all on a primetime TV show. Bravo.

Was a pleasure to work with Symon at HD Tribe in Shoreham-by-Sea last week. Alongside the family I created a celebration of life full of emotion but also humour, laughs, rock music and tour t-shirts…perfectly reflecting the person being celebrated and the family’s wishes.

Got some lovely feedback too (see picture).

Please do get in touch if you need a celebrant happy to help you create fitting goodbyes.

Lovely to receive this feedback this week. The personal plaudits are lovely but the family feeling supported through the process and the day, is what it’s all about for me.

If you would like me as your celebrant, please get in touch.

All the very best wishes to everyone for 2026 from The Good Egg 🥚

2025 was good for me and want to spread the good vibes into 2026.

Started the year off with a ceremony in Folkestone this morning - it was lovely, crisp and bright and everything went off well.

Thanks to the staff at Burlington Hotel who made me very welcome and even gave me a lovely upgrade to make sure I was rested before today 🙏

🎄🥚 Day 23 of the Eggvent Calendar 🥚🎄

It’s the penultimate egg to be cracked!

Being a celebrant isn’t just about standing up and saying the words, it’s about listening to people’s stories, finding the moments that matter and creating a ceremony that feels like them.

Whether it’s full-blown belly laughs, happy tears, or that quiet moment where everything feels real.

Tomorrow is the final door on the Eggvent Calendar and I’ve got something special to say 👀

See you then!

🎄🥚 Day 22 of the Eggvent Calendar 🥚🎄

In ceremonies of every kind, poetry often becomes the moment people lean into. A verse that captures a life. A line that feels like love.

Words that stay with us long after the day has passed.

Poetry doesn’t need to be formal or famous. It might be a few lines from a well-loved poet, a song lyric, or even something written by a family member honest, imperfect and deeply true.

Is there a poem you love?
