It has been reported recently that Mia Maisie Lucas, the 12 year old who tragically died whilst at a psychiatric unit in Sheffield last year had undiagnosed PANDAS (Pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections A)syndrome that causes brain inflammation flares. Symptoms can literally develop over night after being exposed to a virus containing the Strep A bacteria. In the press they described her condition as extremely rare but I’m am treating more and more children with this syndrome in my practice, yet doctors are slow to recognise it. Ayuhuaca in homeopathic form. Because there is usually an emotional aspect from a person developing a thyroid condition I like to look at aspects of a persons relationship with their parents as treatment progresses.
This is a great remedy that I prescribe if I see that a patient has a difficult relationship with their mother. If there has been abuse from the mother or Grandmother side or if the mother provided no protection from the abuse. If there is a sense of being oppressed by family ties or ancestral energy. They can have a strong awareness of childhood feelings or have blocked out aspects of their childhood. The links to the mother are why it is known as the spiritual umbilicus. I prescribe this remedy when a relationship is not “quite right’ and it usually helps to the patient to heal and re-connect on some level with their mother.

This remedy also works well in combination remedies such as when there is depression and anxiety which stems from a dysfunctional family upbringing or creating a detachment when there is a destructive bond between family members.

UTI’S/Cystitis are often uncomfortable, inconvenient and often recurring. Homeopathy is a great treatment for this condition because as well as treating the physical symptoms it can also address the mental and emotional cause too. Very often, in my practice, I see the link between this condition and suppressed anger. That is why Staphysagria is such a commonly prescribed remedy as it clears feelings of anger and resentment.

It's the beginning of that time of year when everyone lots of people are coming down with colds and flu. I have found that the homeopathic remedies Aconite and Streptococcium when taken frequently and in a high dose at the first sign of a cold or flu works really well at quickly lifting the symptoms. The key is to take each remedy in a relatively high dose every 10 minutes in the space of an hour.

If a female patient is presenting with these monthly symptoms it usually means that the homeopathic remedy folliculinum is needed. Folliculinum is made from Oestrogen and these symptoms indicate that there is Oestrogen dominance in the system. If there is a history of the patient taking the pill then all the more so.
Oestrogen dominance from the pill leads to too much estradiol (E2), also known as an "aggressive ostrogen," compared to estriol (E3), which is the "protective oestrogen." This imbalance can also be behind hair loss, fibroids, endometriosis, breast, and ovarian cysts, and even breast and ovarian cancer.
Folliculinum works as a oestrogen detox.
This is especially pertinent to my patients with a thyroid condition who have taken the pill (even for as little as 6 months in the past) as it affects the production of
T4, plus depleting the body of nutrients needed for thyroid function.
