A big thank you to Guy Garrett and the amazing team at Gather for hosting us last night. Claire and I were grateful for the opportunity to talk about something we’re both deeply passionate about — End of Life Care.
The group’s reception was warm, friendly, and deeply engaged, and we’re excited to be returning to The Barn on 12th June for a dedicated session exploring deeper discussions and the options available for those planning their End of Life Care.

Hi All
My colleague Claire Ferrari and I are giving a presentation on Thursday evening. Just putting it out there if you are interested in Advance Decisions to Refuse treatment- ADRT OR Advance Care Planning- making sure you wishes and preferences are understood, legally documented and a gentle conversation about End of life Care. You can join us on Thursday or at another event we have coming up in June. This is going to be held at the Barn Westdene.
Gather – Thursday 23rd April 2026

This month at Gather, we’ll be exploring a topic that many of us don’t often talk about—but one that touches us all: end of life care.

We’re really grateful to be joined by Claire and Sharon, two highly experienced Adult Social Care Consultants, who will be sharing insights from their work as End of Life Doulas.

Drawing on decades of experience across the NHS, charities, private sector and social services, they’ll help us gently explore an important question:
What really matters to people as they come to the end of life—and what can that teach us about how we live now?

This won’t be heavy or clinical. It will be thoughtful, human, and grounded in real experience—offering perspective, clarity, and maybe even a sense of peace about something many of us avoid.

As always, Gather is a safe, welcoming space—come as you are, bring your curiosity, and be part of the conversation.

We’d love to see you there.

People working in hospices, care homes, hospitals and other care settings often experience the deaths of patients and residents where they work, but this doesn’t mean each death is easier to cope with.

Yesterday was a much-needed self-care day. Being at the Amex for Brighton & Hove Albion’s match was a great reminder of the power of teamwork.

After a tough first half, a clear team talk and a reshuffle of responsibilities led to a 2–1 comeback — a perfect example of how the right adjustments can turn things around.

A brilliant mix of energy, reflection, and time with my husband… and a reminder that looking after yourself helps you bring your best to others.
