This is me! Life can feel paralysingly overwhelming at times. Yesterday I wrote down everything that I needed to do/was on my mind and then went for a walk! Getting it all down on paper helped me feel less anxious and in control 👍

Today is National Stress Awareness Day.

We couldn’t think of a better passage to share than this one from 💗

We all feel overwhelmed at times and the weight of the world gets too much. As mum's, we are expected to juggle so much - the kids, our partners, our extended families, our jobs, the housework, the school runs, the shopping - and that's just naming a few. The line “get a routine baggy enough to live in” has to be one of our favourites. To know that if one ball is dropped, it doesn’t have to mean you drop them all.

We wanted to pause for a second to look at coping mechanisms and what we can all try when things get too much.

What are your coping mechanisms for stress?

We KNOW that sticking on a pair of trainers and getting that headspace outside makes us feel better. But what about the others? Which ones work best for you? ☕💬

Was feeling a bit glum yesterday. As a teacher I always find half terms quite lonely - I go from constant social interaction to being unable to pin anyone down as everyone is so busy! I’ve been lucky enough to have a couple of child-free days this week but no one was available to hang out so I felt quite sad and unmotivated.

Yesterday I was due to meet a friend but she cancelled last minute as her son was ill.

I decided to visit with my daughter and dog anyway and I tried really hard to ignore her whinging and enjoy the time in nature.

In the most recent issue of there’s an article about noticing the colour in winter to boost your mood.

Even though it’s not winter yet, lots of the lovely coloured leaves have already disappeared so it took a bit of hunting but I was still able to find some beautiful colours 😍

Getting out definitely gave me a lift and I’ve got a weekend of social interaction ahead to look forward to!

What are your quick-fix mood boosters for when low mood sets in?

This is why we need to create our own village of support.

This is why we need to create our own village of support.

Raising a baby without grandparents nearby is hard because you have less emotional support.
