Was recently reminded of the difficulties and consequences of living with poor mental health. There is always more to learn. None of it feels easy. Standing beside all the people struggling today...keep comfort near.

Saw this and had to share. Of course it depends on the things we are letting go of.....but I still think there is value in this idea, even when meet with pain. Go easy out there, in the ever increasing stillness of autumn.

For the last 10 years or so, I’ve had the great (daunting) pleasure of teaching Chinese medicine. Today I’m teaching for the whole day, with a large class. Something I’ve not done now, in person for a while. As I opened the room to see all the expectant empty seats, I really felt the impact of being ‘back in the room’.....let’s hope my Shen can stay with me and that my ever inventive Hun companions me.

Arthritis in the hands. As the cold, damp weather begins, our joints start to ache and groan. We’re going ‘all in’ today....needles, electro-acupuncture and moxa to increase movement, break down stickiness and invigorate Qi and blood flow.

Working with people today and I’m reminded of how difficult it can be to just witness each other, free of the constraints of where we come from or how we were loved as little ones. Like Rumi so eloquently puts it, ‘Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.’ There is a lot of ‘wrongdoing and rightdoing’ ideas flying about at the moment, it’s important we stay in touch with our humanity. Our together-ing (my own made up word) is important to our species. Finding a way together. Finding a way to stay in conversation beyond rupture. That’s quite enough from me. As the working day ends, I gather myself in and return home. Happy returning home people.

Feet down, lifting up and dropping down Qigong. I’m really looking forward to my practice today. New clients this morning...’hello I’m Charlotte, come on in!’ Happy acupuncturist, happy feet. How grounded are you feeling today? What would help? (Answer; comfy yellow shoes).

Teaching again today. The clinical students at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine are trying to make up for lost time. We’re all trying to balance the rest and push of yin and yang. How do we return to our reflective practice when there is so much ‘doing’ (yang) to be done? One of ways we’ve been using today is to focus on our breath during needling, standing strong in our Qigong roots. What do you observe about the balance in your own life?

“Be still and earth will speak to you.” Morning, a small woodpecker gift as I meet my morning meditation with distraction, fidgeting, and enquiry. How will you find stillness today? How much movement will you need today. Sitting with some grief today......and the sun still rises, she just doesn’t know you’re gone. Sending out love today.

I’m on my psychotherapy training with Karuna today and really starting to deepen into complex process. Reflecting on how for all of us currently there is a ongoing global shifting of sands, ground....and wondering how I am with the unmet need of this current situation. How are you all doing out there? There’s a lot of information going around about R numbers rising and further restrictions? How do we all find a place of ease in this changeable place? I’m going to go and sit in the trees for a bit and see what arises. Join me. ❤️
