🩸 Cuts & Bleeds: Would You Know What to Do? 🩹

Accidents can happen anytime, anywhere—at home, at work, or out and about. Knowing how to spot and treat cuts and bleeds can make a life-saving difference.

🚨 Signs & Symptoms of Bleeding:

- Visible blood from a wound
- Pale, clammy skin
- Rapid pulse or breathing
- Feeling faint, dizzy, or weak
- In severe cases, confusion or loss of consciousness

🩹 Treatment: What To Do

1. Stay Calm & Protect Yourself
Use gloves if available to avoid contact with blood.

2. Apply Pressure
Use a clean pad or dressing to apply firm, direct pressure to the wound. Elevate the injured area if possible.

3. Keep Pressure On
Hold pressure for at least 10 minutes. Don’t keep checking the wound—this can disturb clotting.

4. Use a Bandage
Once the bleeding has slowed, secure a dressing in place. If bleeding comes through, apply another dressing on top.

5. Monitor for Shock
Lay the person down, raise their legs, and keep them warm if they show signs of shock.

6. Call Emergency Services (999)
For severe bleeding, large wounds, or if bleeding doesn’t stop after 10 minutes of pressure.

💡 Remember:
A small cut can often be managed at home, but severe or uncontrolled bleeding is always a medical emergency.

🌟 What to Do in an Asthma Emergency 🌟

Asthma attacks can happen suddenly and be life-threatening. Knowing what to do could save a life. Here's a quick guide:

1️⃣ Keep Calm and Reassure Them 🧘
Stay calm and help the person relax. Panic can make symptoms worse.

2️⃣ Help Them Use Their Inhaler 💨
Assist them in using their reliever inhaler (usually blue).
Encourage them to take it if they have one and it is their own personal use.

3️⃣ Sit Them Upright 🪑
Ensure they’re sitting up and leaning slightly forward.
Avoid laying them down, as this can restrict breathing.

4️⃣ Monitor Their Breathing 👀
Watch for signs of improvement. If their symptoms persist or worsen, seek emergency help.

5️⃣ Call 999/112 if Necessary 🚨
Dial emergency services if:
They don’t improve after using the inhaler.
They’re struggling to speak, or their breathing becomes very labored.
They become unresponsive.

6️⃣ Keep Reassuring Them 🤝
Stay with them until help arrives and encourage slow, steady breaths.

💡 Know the Signs of an Asthma Attack:

Wheezing or coughing
Difficulty breathing
Tightness in the chest
Speaking in short sentences
