Yes, we spend time with loved ones, do some โ€˜relaxingโ€™, enjoy delicious treats, but what about the indigestion, the bloating, the hangovers, the huge guilt we end up with.

You definitely ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ enjoy some choccies / mince pies etc.
But ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ป'๐˜ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜… for yourself.

It took me years to figure out that I can enjoy a Christmas Day / Boxing Day, whilst actually feeling good๐Ÿคฏ

You seeโ€ฆ Enjoying yourself doesnโ€™t mean being greedy!
We seem to โ€˜acceptโ€™ that this is normalโ€ฆ but it doesnโ€™t have to be ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

You might have worked your ass off all year long, why then treat yourself like crap for a week! Have a little self respect, be mindful, and start the year in a much better place this time

I'll be having a ๐˜๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜€๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฐ๐—ต ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ, aside from popping some jealousy-inducing stories from my holiday here! ๐Ÿ˜

All Clients are feeling supported (a special one-or-two will get a text check-in), gym-floor clients are on shut-down(!), and I am ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ taking the laptop or doing ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ for this trip.
I tried to take everything with me on the last big family holiday, and whilst I still enjoyed supporting clients, it definitely became a minor frustration whilst my family were at the pool / beach / or buffet without me! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

So this year. I'm 100% out!
I'll still check some socials and maybe respond to messages, but mostly the phone is going to be locked in the safe after exploring the resort and beach and getting some pictures...

I'll also get LOADS of content ideas as usual, so will need to make some notes, videos, voice notes etc for using them later.

The skin contains phytic acid, which can bind minerals like calcium and zinc (not a massive issue for most, but worth noting).

At 53 years old and having maintained my body weight, composition and strength for the last 5-6 years, I (like us all!) go through '๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€' of each year where weight, shape & energy fluctuates.
๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸปThis is perfectly normal.

My long-term goal is that every year I end up looking and feeling the same as I did at the same time last year - my version of 'maintenance'.

Our body is in constant flux, subjected to external forces and environmental changes, which in turn influence hormones.
(๐˜ž๐˜ฆ ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ข ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ญ!) ๐Ÿคช

Anyway, for the next 4 weeks I am going to place myself in a calorie deficit, whilst maintaining a structured training program and my usual busy work/lifestyle.
This is with the aim of cutting the squishy / wobbly bit around the belly that has accumulated over the past 6-7 months of disruption to my usual environment and routine. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Some people say that a Fitness / Health / Nutrition Coach's body is a walking, talking billboard for their service and lifestyle, and I tend to agree. It's not 100% necessary for a Coach to demonstrate they have the training, experience and knowledge to deliver, however I think we ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ show this in ourselves.
I'm also realistic, in that most of my client base are busy, hard working business owning, dads, who cannot afford to suddenly change their whole environment and lifestyle to become a ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช-๐˜ฑ๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜ญ ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ!

This is why I advocate for ๐˜€๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜€, building ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ and looking at the whole picture (not just food!).
