Confirmed case numbers of measles in the UK have stabilised in the last 12-months, but there has undoubtedly been a resurgence of measles in England and around the world in recent years.

After reaching the highest number of cases recorded annually for over a decade in 2024, numbers stabilised in 2025 at around 950 recorded cases. Most of the cases in England have been in children under the age of 10 years with many outbreaks linked to nurseries and schools.

There’s no specific medical treatment for measles, so it’s important to get vaccinated as it’s the best protection against becoming seriously unwell. Swipe through for a reminder about what measles is and how to prevent or deal with an infection.

Please speak to your GP if you have concerns about vaccinations 💚

Does it feel like your child grows out of their shoes almost as soon as they are in them? Until the age of three, your child’s foot will grow around 2mm a month, that’s two sizes per year on average in the first 3-4 years of life.

So it’s pretty important that you measure your child’s feet regularly in those early years, organisations like Clarks recommend every 6-8 weeks until they are around 4 years of age.

Take a look at our guide to measuring and checking at home, this was created from the resources found on the website - check this out for lots more brilliant information and measuring advice.

Every now and then, we see content circulating about 'cough CPR' - health professionals and The British Heart Foundation and Resuscitation Council UK have overwhelmingly debunked this myth.

This information is on the British Heart Foundation website:

There is no medical evidence to support ‘cough CPR’, which suggests you can help yourself by coughing vigorously if you think you’re having a heart attack and are alone.

If you have a cardiac arrest, you would become unconscious, and without immediate CPR (chest compressions and rescue breaths), you would die. But if you are still conscious (and you would have to be to do ‘cough CPR’), then you are not in cardiac arrest and therefore CPR is not needed, but urgent medical help is vital.

If you witness a cardiac arrest, you can increase the person’s chances of survival by phoning 999 immediately and giving CPR.

Please learn the facts and do not share content about 'cough CPR'!

There’s no medical evidence that coughing can help during a suspected heart attack, and many credible organisations have warned against it.

With a vaccine for chickenpox being included in the national vaccination programme for children in the UK from this month, we thought we'd share a reminder of what chickenpox is and why it can be so dangerous and unpleasant for children.

You can find out more about the vaccine by asking your GP or refer to the NHS website.

The months of March to May are the most common time to catch chickenpox, so we thought a reminder about the symptoms and how to treat it wou...

Data showed that cases of Whooping Cough rose in England and Wales in 2024 and while we don’t yet have stats for 2025, it’s important that you know the signs to look out for.

The UK Health Security Agency warned of a steady decline in uptake of the vaccine in pregnant women and children. Please chat with your GP or midwife about vaccination.

Take a few moments today to familiarise yourself with the vaccines available and the symptoms and dangers of whooping cough so that you can make an informed decision 💚

🚘 From 2026, the theory test part of learning to drive will include questions on CPR and defibrillators. If you were in an accident or came across one on the road, would you know what to do?

It’s not just about ticking a box on a test paper; it’s about feeling confident that you would know what to do if you came across an emergency and that you would be able to step in and help.

🚗 Drivers are often the first people on the scene of an accident, so it’s vital to learn the skills of CPR and using an AED, and nothing teaches these skills better than in-person demonstrations and hands-on practice.

💚 Our 2-hour First Aid Awareness Class for Adults covers heart attack, CPR, using an AED, stroke, burns, bleeds, severe allergic reaction, choking, seizures and breaks. It’s informal and gives everyone who attends the skills to respond in an emergency situation.

Come and learn with us, or encourage your teenager who is learning to drive to come and learn with us today - a few hours of learning could save a life.
