🍂 Autumn wind down & deep rest 🍂

Autumn is the perfect time of year to start winding down and preparing for the deep rest of winter. This extended practice will support you in making that seasonal shift. Expect gentle warming movements to bring ease to your body, restorative postures to help you turn inward and feel centred before lying down for a nurturing Yoga Nidra practice.

This practice is suitable for most people, including those new to yoga. It will be of great benefit if you are feeling worn out, overwhelmed or have trouble sleeping. If you are pregnant you are very welcome to join if you are healthy and have no complications - please let the studio know when booking how many weeks you are. New mothers are also very welcome to join from 6 weeks postpartum.

Limited spaces available to keep things spacious - book your spot directly with the lovely folk x

The average student age at is about to drop by welcoming local families to our weekly Mother & Baby Yoga session! 🥰

You’ll notice that ‘mother’ comes before ‘baby’ in the name. This session is very much for the mamas…

• To get out of the house and spend time with other mamas that want to do some yoga
• To reconnect with your body. To move your bone. To stretch and strengthen your muscles
• To breathe well. To reawaken your deep core and pelvic muscles
• To rest.

Of course there’ll be some sound and movement for the little ones too. Know that they will also be stimulated by others around them and soothed by your presence. You’re welcome to feed / change / rock / cuddle them throughout. You’re also welcome to lie down and nap for the full hour too if that’s what you need 😊

Book your space directly with and share with any mamas who need this x

(suitable from 7 weeks postpartum to when they start crawling)

〰️ Yoga for Motherhood 〰️
Tuesday evenings 7.30pm BS5

This session could also be called Pregnancy Yoga. Many of the core practices that can be of great benefit during pregnancy can continue to support mamas when your babes are earth side:

• Joint freeing movements
• Mindfully moving between lying / sitting / standing
• Moving and positioning your body intuitively
• Finding a soothing, calming rhythm and way of breathing and calling upon it spontaneously
• Using props to support you whilst lying and sitting which can be game changing when establishing breastfeeding
• And the are of efficient rest. Any parents superpowers

This is a drop in session making it easy for you to join when you can whilst still benefitting from being part of a community of mothers-to-be. Book your space in the circle directly with

*There is always one community space which requires no payment for those that need this. Please share and spread the word.

Tuesday evenings are a joy. Guiding two sessions at the soulful - Unwind followed by Yoga for Motherhood (AKA Pregnancy Yoga). If you’ve practiced with me you’ll know I usually have a ‘sketch’ for the practice which is always shaped by responding to the needs and wishes of each person. This evenings practices had rough outlines involving spirals - both in movements and in the sense of finding your centre amidst the forward spiralling and wandering of life. What each student needed filled in the gaps and two soulful, supportive practices came alive which were both a pleasure to witness.
🌀
In the context of mat based yoga, spirals, smooth lines, swirling, looping, curling movements can soothe and settle so long as there’s a sense of centresness to wind back into. The last 18 months I’ve learnt a lot from some@wonderful teachers, some close by and some in the virtual realm, who all honour these natural movements and shapes. Most of us were born spiralling out of our mothers and continue to twist and wind our way through life.

thank you for your guidance and wisdom x

(to) Rest

1. cease work or movement in order to relax, sleep, or recover strength.

2. be placed or supported so as to stay in a specified position.

RESTorative yoga and all it’s sisters are what keep me sane and safe. The steady, simple breath practices help me return to normality after a bout of mothers rage. The supported, wholesome postures feel like coming home regardless of how my body is feeling.

The teachers I gravitate towards all value this branch of yoga and I’d always be wary of practicing with anyone that doesn’t have this tool in their belt. That’s not to say you should, but for me it’s a useful indicator of their approach to and value of yoga as well as knowing that they also know how to rest themselves.

For me, Restorative yoga & Yoga Nidra are synonymous with one another. The postures and breath work naturally lead you to the ideal place and state to receive the gift of Yoga Nidra…the practice that takes you to the luminal space between being awake and asleep. It’s resets my nervous system like nothing else. It’s guides me to a state where I’m most likely to fall asleep. It makes me feel good about myself.

That’s what rest means to me. If you’d like to practice this skill then I’d love to guide and support you. There are limited methods of collective rest and there’s something very special about sharing this practice with others…the silent support is something else. Every Tuesday evening at 6pm come and reset at There’s a choice of fantastic memberships that allow you to experience all that the studio has to offer, as well as a community spot for every practice.

See you there soon x

A blend of restorative yoga, yin yoga & Yoga Nidra every Tuesday 6pm

Resting is an undervalued and underrepresented skill and art. So many ways to move and get strong. Not so many that offer the chance to practice slowing down, being quiet and resting deeply. For many years this has been my go to yoga practice. Using the best that restorative yoga, yin yoga and yoga Nidra offer mixed with an understanding of modern science and the nervous system this offering is one that comes from personal experience and years of training and exploring. It’s a quiet practice. You might call in yoga for introverts. It’s a time to be. To lie down, do very little, to nap if needed and to intentionally slow your pace of living down so you might be able to slip into a few moments of feeling completely suspended and still. Detached and calm. Steady and peaceful. That’s the intention.

Join me every Tuesday at 6pm for an hour of quiet time in this Easton sanctuary. Book your space directly with

Join me every Tuesday evening at 7pm - keep reading to get an idea of what to expect from this weekly Pregnancy Yoga class…

Oh, where to start! Let’s get the expected benefits ticked off first - to stay healthy and mobile during pregnancy, to ease back pain, to connect with your baby and to other mamas-to-be. Those reasons only are enough to commit just one hour per week during your pregnancy. But there are so many more reasons to integrate a guided yoga practice into your week…

Practicing yoga whilst pregnant is an opportunity to deepen (or establish) your yoga practice. You have a clear reason and purpose for being there - all the mamas in the room will share the common ground of being pregnant, but your personal motivation is yours and will be subtly different, but no less clear, than your neighbour in the circle. Often we can get stuck in our yoga practice and simply ‘show up’ without any thought as to why we are there. Pregnancy sharpens your focus and intention.

It’s a time to really study yourself. To study your changing and magnificent body. To understand the biomechanics of your pelvis and surrounding areas so that you can understand the process of birth. To adapt and adjust your movements and postures so they are best for your body. To be able to safely get down to the ground and back up again (a life skill IMHO). To study your subtle self too - how does it feel to be asked to lie down and rest? How familiar is it to be given options and to decide which one is best for you? All these are priceless opportunities to strengthen your sense of self at a time of life when it’s so easy to feel lost and detached from your self.

For me, the most valuable offering that yoga has through pregnancy is the chance to get really good at resting. To be able to get comfy, to close your eyes and access the sanctuary that is always within yourself even when outside feels exhausting or chaotic. Through the use of props and Yoga Nidra the skill of resting is the one I treasure (and call upon) most.

What about you? Have you practiced yoga through pregnancy? What did you value most?

~ Slowing down to rest: a two hour practice Saturday 26 June 3.30pm

In this two hour extended practice you will be guided through breathing practices, gentle movement and restorative postures to prepare you for the ultimate practice of deep rest - Yoga Nidra. The movements and posture will allow the whole body and mind to begin to unwind and settle so that you are set up well to receive the benefits that Yoga Nidra has to offer. Yoga Nidra is essentially a form of deep relaxation which intends to guide you to that wonderful place between being awake and asleep - the place where ultimate rest can be experienced.

This practice is the ideal antidote to a busy life, active lifestyle, worried mind or if you're feeling wiped out. Expect to leave feeling like your energy levels have been topped up and your nervous system has had the chance to reset. You might want to keep the evening free to enjoy lingering in the state of bliss you'll hopefully leave in! This practice is suitable for most folk, including those new to yoga, new mothers from eight weeks postpartum and those who are pregnant (if you're pregnant please let the studio know how many weeks when booking).

There are only 6 spaces in the studio with an investment of £20.

You can also join us online - check website for more info.

IN the studio / cloud space that is Wow. What a privilege. This year has really shaken us all up. From the pockets of society hardest hit by Covid-19 to the individuals experience discrimination on a daily basis to those folk. I’m lucky enough to not have been negatively affected by either. To be a yoga teacher generally assumes a certain level of privilege anyway, but to have sustained the last year (including pregnancy and birth) relatively unscathed and still here is an absolute privilege.

Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed with the return of ‘normal’ activities as things that now feel like privileges? On Monday I took the boys on the bus into town for the first in over a year for B, and ever for J. The cost of the ticket was ridiculous for a mode of transport that’s often looked done upon. How privileged I am to be able to pay that. Many can’t. It made me well up.

Moving forward into the studio has been another tear jerker. Not necessarily from the joy of it (although it is joyous) but from the sense of the relief that I’m able to. That my partner’s support allows me to be a mum to the boys whilst their little and continue teaching just the few classes my energy levels currently allow. That the studio is still there. That students leant in and supported local business owners and teachers and have allowed us to keep doing what we love and are fantastic at - guiding folk through intentional movement, conscious breathing and most importantly rest.

If you haven’t made it out to do ‘normal’ things yet then you’re not alone. This adjustment is going to take time. Time to trust, time to figure out what’s needed and time to find a new rhythm. If you’re drawn to learning and practising how to rest well then I’m here for you...

Every Tuesday 5.30pm - Unwind

Expect gentle, low-energy-input movement, a mix of yin / restorative postures and yoga Nidra. You’re very welcome to join if you are pregnant and from 8 weeks postpartum. That’s it. Musings over. With love x

Time to move forward in to the studios. Time to feel the ground as we move. To notice how it feels. To breathe. Next week comes the next round of changes and even though most of us will be feeling excited, nerves and uncertainty may also be present. We all need to take our own time to feel our own way. As and when you feel ready to step forward and into a shared yoga space I’ll be there to guide you for the following weekly sessions:

Tuesdays 5.30pm - Unwind
Tuesdays 7.00pm - Pregnancy Yoga

Both classes can be booked as drop ins directly with the studio so you can take it one week at a time and see how it feels. I’ve a feeling it’s going to feel great though 😀 🌱 🙌🏻
