Winston’s Story 🐾💚
Understanding FCE in Dogs

Winston, a golden doodle, suddenly lost the use of his back legs while running in the garden. He was rushed to the vets, where he was diagnosed with a suspected FCE (Fibrocartilaginous Embolism) — a sudden, non-painful spinal cord injury that can cause weakness or paralysis.

His vets recommended starting rehab straight away.

When Winston first came to us at All Seasons, he couldn’t walk without his owners using a hindlimb sling for support. We began immediate physiotherapy and introduced him to the underwater treadmill to help with gait re-education and build confidence.

Winston can now walk independently, and his neurological function has already improved. There’s still some weakness in his back legs, but he’s working hard every session. 💪🐶

Our goal?
To get Winston strong enough to enjoy his walks again.

We’ll keep you updated on his progress.
Well done, Winston! 💚

Say hi to Charlie the Springer Spaniel 💚

Charlie came to see us two months after his right TPLO surgery. His rehab took a little longer than usual due to a suspected late meniscal tear, but with time, veterinary care, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, he’s made an amazing recovery.

He’s now back to loving his daily walks — and has even started his new job as a pet therapy dog, brightening the days of patients at his local hospital ✨🐾

Why We Get In With Your Dogs! 🐾💦

Being in the treadmill with your dog isn’t just about encouragement or moral support — it’s about helping them move better!

When a therapist joins your dog in the water, we can gently guide their limbs to encourage proper movement, improved range of motion, and a more natural gait pattern. This hands-on approach helps activate and strengthen the right muscle groups, improving coordination and building strength — all while preventing compensation or overuse of other areas.

It’s all about helping your dog move comfortably, confidently, and correctly! 💪🐶

Say hi to our resident teddy bear, Scooby the border collie.

If you asked Scooby why he comes to visit us, he’d probably say it’s for the cuddles — and for making sure the clinic gets a good soaking!

What Scooby doesn’t realise is that he’s also been working hard to strengthen his back legs as part of his treatment for hip dysplasia.

We won’t tell if you don’t.

Say hi to the newest member of the All Seasons Animal Rehab family — Guinness! 🐾

Guinness is an 11-month-old Working Cocker Spaniel who found herself in need of a new home. Ellen spotted her on and learned that Guinness required rehabilitation following patella luxation correction surgery.

She’s now got the all-clear from her orthopaedic surgeon to start her rehab journey, and she’s ready to get strong again! 💪

Guinness has quite a bit of muscle wastage in her right hind leg — her thigh is 4 cm smaller than her left — and she’s not putting much weight through it yet, as you can see from our stance analyser results.

We can’t wait to share her progress with you as she gets back to full strength! 💚

Rehab isn’t all hard work — sometimes it’s about rest and relaxation!

Massage therapy plays a key role in canine rehabilitation. It helps relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, reduce pain, and support recovery.

Massage isn’t just a treat — it’s an important part of healing. ❤️‍🩹

Say hi to handsome Hugo! 😍

Hugo wanted to show off how brave he’s being during his second ever hydrotherapy session!

Hugo’s a rescue who can find new situations pretty scary, so we’ve been taking things nice and slow. But today he walked straight into the tank and even started taking treats from us — such amazing progress!

He’s having treatment for hip dysplasia and swelling in one of his knees, and we’re hoping that with a mix of physio and hydro, this lovely lad will soon be moving more comfortably and feeling his best.
