Winston’s Story 🐾💚
Understanding FCE in Dogs
Winston, a golden doodle, suddenly lost the use of his back legs while running in the garden. He was rushed to the vets, where he was diagnosed with a suspected FCE (Fibrocartilaginous Embolism) — a sudden, non-painful spinal cord injury that can cause weakness or paralysis.
His vets recommended starting rehab straight away.
When Winston first came to us at All Seasons, he couldn’t walk without his owners using a hindlimb sling for support. We began immediate physiotherapy and introduced him to the underwater treadmill to help with gait re-education and build confidence.
Winston can now walk independently, and his neurological function has already improved. There’s still some weakness in his back legs, but he’s working hard every session. 💪🐶
Our goal?
To get Winston strong enough to enjoy his walks again.
We’ll keep you updated on his progress.
Well done, Winston! 💚
