Just a normal primary impression sequence. 2 remaining teeth make adaptation of stock trays essential. 1️⃣. Make a hole in a dentate tray to allow the tray to fully seat. 2️⃣ Fill the entire tray with KemKat just ensure you push a finger in to create some ‘space’ for the alginate. 3️⃣. Refine the peripheries where short with Greenstick. 4️⃣ Use the best alginate on the planet from , chat to about a sample bag. You’ll be amazed at its characteristics. 5️⃣. Feel smug cos you get an impression your technician will love. ❤️

When you’ve taken an impression you need to scrutinise it. Have you captured the required anatomy?🤔. This is a great example. Close up you can see an area of lingual sulcus that just looks 👀a bit ‘odd’. Does the soft tissue look the same? If you look at the image you can see the lingual sulcal tissues have lifted up causing a lack of depth 😢. Look what you can see if you depress and retract the tissues with a mirror. The way to avoid this is to build your impression by ensuring the wax added lingually is actually extending into the sulcus. Sometimes you made need to ‘help’ the wax by pushing it into the target areaa with a gentle finger.

Just thought it was time to share some love for impression command Greenstick. Got to love the way you can capture the elusive retro-mylohyoid space to stabilise lower dentures. And it’s so easy to use these materials with .uk heater units.

Just a sequence of an immediate addition to an existing old upper acrylic denture of two incisor teeth. I do these additions on the same day. Pre-order the appropriate teeth chosen a couple of weeks beforehand. Impressions are taken at 9.00am. The appointment is long enough to pour the impressions in the same time slot in my diary. The stone is setting whilst I see the next patient. Then the impressions are removed and the teeth to be extracted removed from the cast. The replacement teeth are set in an allocated slot in my diary. I then convert the wax set up into acrylic over the lunch break. Patient returns at 2.00pm. Teeth are extracted, haemostasis is obtained and the denture inserted. Occlusion check and the patient leaves. Total time with the denture in this case a touch over 5 hours. 😎😀 Happy patient. Satisfaction guaranteed 👍🏻

My protocol for adding Greenstick to my beautifully made trays from The trays always fit and are perfectly extended so all I need to do is 1️⃣. Create a posterior seal. 2️⃣. Record the functional sulcal depth and width in the buccal sulcal adjacent to the tuberosities allowing for. Mandibular excursions as the coronoid process moves lateral and anterior. Then we use the sadly discontinued ZnO for a lovely result.

I always fit check my trays for over extension. I teach what I do myself. was taking secondary impressions on Monday at Bristol University Dental School on Monday. We used light body silicone to identify any over extension. We trimmed away the areas where the tray shows though. We added virtually zero Greenstick as the tray was pretty well at the correct extension. ZnO was used and we ended up with these beautiful impressions. I did nothing other than advise from a distance. Pretty good result for a ‘first timer’ 👍🏻👌🏻. Do you fit check your close fit complete custom trays?🤔

I’ve not done a post like this for a while. Large upper anterior bounded saddle. Start as ever by filling in the large space between the tray and the palate. product called Kemkat allows you to select just enough compound rather than an entire cake 👍🏻. The Anutex wax to achieve full sulcal depth in the dentate areas. The best Alginate from Alginoplast will always give 100% 💯 brilliant results. will help you out if you ask him nicely 🤓.
