So many people feel anxious about flying, but often the fear isn’t about the plane - it’s about the thoughts, sensations, and “what ifs” that build up around it.

With targeted hypnotherapy techniques, it’s absolutely possible to retrain those patterns and feel calmer, more grounded, and more prepared before you even step on the plane.
This client had been avoiding flying since childhood, and after our work together, they were able to travel with ease and enjoy their holiday without dread.

If fear of flying is getting in the way of your life, there are gentle and effective solution.

Playing catch-up with posts… but I couldn’t not share this moment.

It was a real privilege to welcome everyone to the this weekend.

Every year I’m reminded how special this community is - the presenters, the delegates, and everyone who brings their enthusiasm and openness to the event.

Thank you to all who attended and made it such a memorable weekend.

I’m always deeply grateful when clients share their experiences. This was a recent 5 star Google Review.

Witnessing someone move from anxiety and self-doubt to feeling calm, confident, and capable again is exactly why I do this work.

Thank you to this client for their kind words - and for showing what’s possible when you commit to positive change. 💛

I’m still buzzing after an incredible weekend at the UK Hypnosis Convention. As one of the organisers (alongside the amazing Adam Eason School of Therapeutic Hypnosis and Steve Baxter), I absolutely love being part of this event - and this year was truly special.

We had 68 fantastic speakers, an outstanding team of room monitors who kept everything running smoothly, and an atmosphere filled with connection, kindness, and community. I spoke about exactly that in my welcome speech (creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming space where connection can genuinely thrive), and I’m so grateful for the lovely feedback I received. My biggest crowd yet, a few little stumbles, but it didn’t faze me. I think I’m finally getting the hang of this! 😄

Even though I’m always rushing around, I did manage to catch a few sessions:
- James Coates on the somatic hug process - I’ve used aspects of it before, but never in this combination. It fits beautifully with the compassion- and acceptance-based approach I take with clients.
- A brilliant talk on perimenopause from Jo Jones - such an important life transition and one so many experience.
- Dr Peter Naish on consciousness - absolutely fascinating. His accessible style is exactly what you’d expect from an Open University emeritus professor. He’s actually one of my heroes; meeting him three years ago at UKHC inspired me to sign up for my OU Psychology degree (final year now!).
- Dr Michael Yapko on choosing interventions - genuinely the best keynote we’ve ever had. Thought-provoking, inspiring, and gave me so much to reflect on. I immediately bought the books of his I didn’t already own!
- Graham Webber on working with armed services personnel - such useful insight into communication and connection.
- The interview where Adam interviewed Paul McKenna - fantastic. Paul talks fast enough to fit three hours into one, but he’s such a great storyteller.
- And the closing keynote by Scott Sandland - honestly the best closing keynote I’ve ever seen. So moving, funny, validating, and beautifully woven around imposter syndrome, learning, and the special moments of the weekend. I may have had a little tear in my eye at the kind things he said about us organisers.

I also had one of those “is this real life?” moments having lunch with Dr Michael Yapko and Dr Peter Naish (as well as other special people). Sitting there discussing false memories and many other fascinating topics with people who have shaped the field was surreal, inspiring, and such a privilege.

I also finally got to meet Paul McKenna, whose TV show back in the 90s first sparked my interest in hypnosis - long before I trained in 2010. Life has a funny way of coming full circle.

What made this year so enjoyable, though, were the connections - deepening friendships, reconnecting with people I’ve known over the years, and meeting so many new wonderful humans. This community is something I feel genuinely proud to be part of.

I’m coming away feeling happy, proud, grateful, inspired, tired… and somehow energised all at once. The vibe was incredible this year, and the quality of learning was outstanding.

Now to try to come back down to earth (that might take a few days!)… and then it’s straight into planning next year’s convention!

🎄 Wishing You a Merry Christmas 🎄

As the festive season is upon us, I want to take a moment to wish you a peaceful and joyful Christmas. For some, this time of year is filled with celebration and connection, while for others, it can bring challenges, memories, or a sense of loneliness. If you find yourself struggling, know that it’s okay to reach out and take things one moment at a time.

I’m now closed for the holidays and will return to the clinic on Wednesday, 3rd January 2025. Emails will be replied to after I’m back, but if you’d like to start planning for the new year, you can book a free 15-minute call via my website here: https://smhypnobooking.as.me/free15minchat.

Take care of yourself, and I hope this Christmas brings you moments of peace and warmth, however you’re spending it. 💖

Warm wishes,
Sarah

I’ve also included a practical framework to help you get started:

What a weekend! This year’s UK Hypnosis Convention was an incredible success, and I’m so proud to be one of the organisers alongside Adam Eason and Steve Baxter. 🌀

Organising such a large event is a year-round task, and the anticipation in the final weeks is always intense. But once it all comes together, it’s so rewarding. The weekend ran smoothly, and the feedback has been fantastic—each year just keeps getting better.

It’s wonderful to see such a diverse, passionate community come together. Whether people are attending to learn, share their expertise, or simply connect with like-minded individuals, the energy and enthusiasm are always inspiring.

I gave the welcome speech this year, which went down really well! I had some wonderful feedback, which I’m so grateful for. And while I spent much of the weekend darting between rooms, I managed to catch some fantastic presentations. I especially enjoyed hearing from Prof Katalina Varga, Dr David Spiegel, Dr Sue Peacock, Tim Box, Adam Eason, Dan Jones, Jonathan Goodwin, Tracey Grist, Graham Webber, and Rachel Gillibrand. I've highlighted these ones as I actually managed to sit through the whole presentations, the rest I only caught snippets of, unfortunately.

Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, and contributed to making this event so special.

After a good night’s sleep and a well-earned day off, I’m feeling more refreshed and already looking forward to planning next year’s convention. Here’s to celebrating the power of hypnosis and the incredible community behind it! 💙
