When we lose someone special, bereavement isn't just loss, it's change, huge, transformative, sometimes unexpected change...
Dates that used to be meaningless, another day like any other, can become a significant part of your year, not just that day, but also the build up to it.
Seeing a robin, a feather, a rainbow or something that reminds you of them, suddenly becomes a "sign," a feeling of comfort or connection.
You begin thinking about the meaning of life, death and everything in between. The curiosity around what we deem to be meaningful in life grows and takes a different shape to before.
And in contrast, the things we may once have considered important may suddenly feel minor or trivial.
The time passed can somehow feel obscure, almost warped. How can the months / years passed feel like yesterday but a life time ago all at once.
Grief can feel like a rippling effect that leaves no cracks and corners of life untouched, but I guess their love did just that so it makes sense their loss does too 🤍
If you can resonate, I've put together a small therapy lead group, focussing on grief, bereavement and loss.
A way of connecting through shared experience ✨
