I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor currently available for online and face to face sessions in Washington, Sunderland and Heaton, Newcastle. I am an Integrative Counsellor (FdA) who works mainly in the person-centered approach which means that at the heart of my work lie empathy, unconditional positive regard and a non-judgemental attitude. As it is the season of dark nights, low energy and wild weather, I'm going for something a little more lighthearted in my next video series. I'm going to explore terrible TV and film therapists. There are countless times I find myself with my head in my hands in despair as therapists in drama are either downright terrible or shockingly unethical. And I know, it's TV, it's not real! But they really do perpetuate some rubbish stereotypes and myths about therapy that could put people off or give them very unrealistic expectations! So grab the popcorn as I explore some of the worst therapists in TV and Film and give you an idea of what red flags in therapy can look like.
