Supported by the lovely I have seen such a huge super 🌟 change in this young boy in just 6 weeks!! Without directly working on pencil control or pencil grasp, but essentially scissor skills… and look what all that cut cut cut cutting has done!

Developing the muscles in his right hand, using the just-right challenge to develop his confidence and dexterity, small building blocks go a long way….. we’re not done yet but we have achieved so much since September.

The power of OT…. Because we don’t just work on the grasp and handwriting, we do SO much more. We look at the environment, the child, their activities and motivations, the skills needs for the demand of the task, breaking this down into sizeable chunks with the skilled OT eye of observation, working on one little piece of the jigsaw at a time.

We are so much more than ‘let’s just throw a pencil grip at him….’ We are OTs and we have the power to change and influence, and see things other don’t see 🙂 ✍️ 💓
