Chickenpox is on the rise in the UK. Not only does this impact on children who may suffer from the condition, it also creates difficulties for immune-supressed and vulnerable peers.

It’s a common infection in children that spreads easily. While it’s usually mild, it can lead to serious complications which need hospitalisation, including chest infections and fits.

All young children are now eligible for vaccination. The vaccine will be combined with the existing MMR jab (given at 12 and 18 months of age), which already helps protect against measles, mumps and rubella. Children up to the age of six can catch up on doses when invited.

We are seeing a higher-than-average number of patients not attending appointments this week.

If you no longer need your appointment, please remember to cancel it so that it can be offered to other patients waiting.

It's easy to cancel - option 1 on our phone system is a "Check and Cancel" service (you can use this to check what appointments you have and to cancel any that are no longer needed), or you can cancel using the link in your text message appointment reminder, call us to speak to a Receptionist or use the Klinik option to cancel an appointment.

Patients who repeatedly miss appointments will receive a warning and may be removed from our list.

We have lots of patients waiting for routine appointments so please do cancel if yours is no longer needed, so that we can offer it to someone else.
