Our DJs for tomorrow's party raising funds for this year's Transcend Festival!

Mollie Rush

Founder of Bristol’s Soz Lad parties, the big mouth of jungle punk outfit Tokky Horror and a lover of everything hard and fast, Mollie Rush has quickly gained a fanbase of like minded speed freaks. Spinning everything from slamming amens to donk laden remixes of punk classics, Rush’s unique tongue in cheek style has earned them spots at Glastonbury, Boomtown, and Homobloc to name but a few.

Tommy Sinewave
Bringing their finest 140 selection to the dance. Expect to hear newer and weightier dubstep, choppy grime, and chaotic wub-wub sounds that make music nerds, roadmen, and transfemmes go "Woi, sick tune bruv, wheel it, wheel it"

cutmesum.flacflac
Meme laden & terminally online; cutmesum.flac may just be the most unhinged party DJ on the Bristol scene. As long as there’s CDJ’s about they’re gonna shell it for the femmes & the thems!! Get up and move into the Q***r Joy hidden deep inside their asinine heart…You’ve been warned!

Tomorrow!
Event starts at 8pm; last entry Midnight

Mariana Trench is the deep and mysterious legendary theatre kid of Bristol drag who'll be hosting us on Saturday night, taking our breath away with a full length performance and diving into our bag of amazing raffle prizes.

Francis Strange melds the wholesome and irreverent while failing to meet assumptions of what accordion music sounds like. Francis is a regular silent film accompanist and you might recognise them from our Transcend house band, Sloth Parade! They'll be opening our fundraiser with jazz classics, improvisation to audience participation, and cover songs you probably don’t expect to hear on a squeeze box.

Transcend Festival 2020

This three-day festival close to Bristol will provide a much needed safer space for trans and non-binary people to take a break from cisnormative society. There will be music and performances by trans and non-binary artists (with chances for open mic and jam sessions!), a clothes swap, fashion show, massage, a sauna, hairdressing, sock wrestling, stalls, a library and tea nook. We’re also planning a variety of workshops - both practical and political - for example on makeup, trans healthcare, s*x education, screenprinting, dance, self-defense, meditation, mental health, migrant solidarity, trans prisoner support, decolonising gender, s*x worker solidarity, trans history and accounts from older trans ppl, etc.

Anti-Oppression It’s crucial that we use this opportunity to amplify the voices of those within our community who face multiple oppressions. People of colour, disabled people, people affected by transmisogyny, older trans people, s*x workers and people from working class backgrounds will be given priority to take the stage as performers and as workshop facilitators. There will be specific opportunities to meet up with others who have shared experiences during the weekend.

Accessibility A safer spaces agreement (including an action plan), and welfare people, will be in place for the duration of the festival. People of all ages are welcome, but under 17’s need to be accompanied by an over 18 guardian. Assistance dogs can come, but there will be limited places available. We will be looking to make the event wheelchair accessible and provide a quiet area and first aiders. The food available will be vegan, with gluten free and nut free options. Tickets will be sold on a sliding-scale pricing system, with some free tickets available, and free meal tickets will be available to those who need them. This event is organised by and for trans people - allies are welcome, but please keep this in mind. We’re keen to hear from you about what you’d need in order to be able to access the space and feel safe there.
