Want your practice to be the top-listed Clinic?
This three-day festival close to Bristol will provide a much needed safer space for trans and non-binary people to take a break from cisnormative society. There will be music and performances by trans and non-binary artists (with chances for open mic and jam sessions!), a clothes swap, fashion show, massage, a sauna, hairdressing, sock wrestling, stalls, a library and tea nook. We’re also planning a variety of workshops - both practical and political - for example on makeup, trans healthcare, s*x education, screenprinting, dance, self-defense, meditation, mental health, migrant solidarity, trans prisoner support, decolonising gender, s*x worker solidarity, trans history and accounts from older trans ppl, etc.
Anti-Oppression It’s crucial that we use this opportunity to amplify the voices of those within our community who face multiple oppressions. People of colour, disabled people, people affected by transmisogyny, older trans people, s*x workers and people from working class backgrounds will be given priority to take the stage as performers and as workshop facilitators. There will be specific opportunities to meet up with others who have shared experiences during the weekend.
Accessibility A safer spaces agreement (including an action plan), and welfare people, will be in place for the duration of the festival. People of all ages are welcome, but under 17’s need to be accompanied by an over 18 guardian. Assistance dogs can come, but there will be limited places available. We will be looking to make the event wheelchair accessible and provide a quiet area and first aiders. The food available will be vegan, with gluten free and nut free options. Tickets will be sold on a sliding-scale pricing system, with some free tickets available, and free meal tickets will be available to those who need them. This event is organised by and for trans people - allies are welcome, but please keep this in mind. We’re keen to hear from you about what you’d need in order to be able to access the space and feel safe there.
