Bio:
sLEdger is London based DJ / Producer Robin Dallison who has released and remixed under various disguises such as Dobbs, Rob Vision and The Escapist on labels like Soundgarden, Tici Taci, Stripped, Redshift, Sinister, Pegdoll, Global
Underground and Music To Die For.
Robin began his musical life as a drummer, and then like so many others was caught by the rave bug. Stints on pirate radio station Dream FM in Leeds (UK) soon caught the ear of legendary club promoter Dave Beer and gigs around Leeds and Manchester followed, at places like Back To Basics, and Humbug in Manchester, sharing the bill with people people like Mr Scruff, and Luke Una. This led to his first taste of production in Spirit Studios Manchester with the legend that is Simon Noble (Breeder) sitting in on a couple of sessions. A move to London followed and Robin immersed himself in the Progressive / Breakbeat and Belearic electronic scenes, DJ’ing at legendry clubs like Turnmills & Elements, as well as touring Europe alongside people like Rui Da Silva and the late Jonathan Lisle from Bedrock (RIP).
Along the way his releases have gained support from some of the biggest players in electronic music, his breakbeat based work as ‘The Escapist’ and ‘Dobbs’ was played Annie Nightingale (RIP) & Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 1, as well as John Digweed on his Kiss radio show .
sLEdger’s more recent releases don’t easily sit in any genre, the slower more Balearic productions have caught the ear of Laurent Garnier, and Sean Johnston from the legendary ALFOS club night, who described sLEdger’s track ‘Popper’ as
“One of the ‘tunes of 2024’. sLEdger’s more ‘Progressive House’ sounding releases have been supported by Nick Warren from the start, Nick has also remixed 2 of sLEdgers tunes. Then more recently Sasha championed the track ‘Hardcore Angel’
at a raft of his gigs, hence the release being snapped up by Music To Die For !
sLEdger has also remixed many artists including Fluke, Dark Globe, and Boy George. The Boy George remix has now racked up over 150,000 streams on Spotify alone. sLEdger’s music is a mixture of Deep electronic, progressive, breaks, indie
dance, rave and dubby balearic influences. Whether it’s a banger or chilled , sLEdger always delivers something a little different, and in these times of generic / genre based music that can only be a good thing.
