Why stable seated support matters at the bedside. Helping a patient sit on the edge of the bed using ordinary pillows can be challenging. Pillows shift, collapse, and slide out of place, often leaving the patient poorly supported and at risk of losing balance. As a result, assisting a patient to sit forward, drink, or prepare to stand frequently requires two carers just to maintain safety and stability.

The SitSafe from PostureSnug provides a much more secure and supportive alternative.

With its structured design and supportive sides, SitSafe® helps stabilise the patient while sitting on the edge of the bed. The patient is supported around the trunk, reducing the risk of falling sideways or backwards and creating a safer, more comfortable seated position.

This stability means that one carer can safely assist the patient with activities such as:

• Sitting securely on the edge of the bed
• Preparing to stand
• Drinking or taking medication
• Early mobilisation and functional activities

By replacing unstable pillows with a structured support system, SitSafe improves patient confidence, enhances safety, and can reduce the physical demands on carers.

Better support for the patient. Safer care for everyone. https://posturesnug.uk/SitSafe

Why ordinary cushions aren’t enough for seated support in bed or on the floor, and how SitSafe from PostureSnug changes that.

Using standard pillows or cushions to support a child in sitting often leads to the same problems: instability, sliding, collapse into asymmetry, and constant readjustment by caregivers. Soft household cushions simply aren’t designed to provide structured postural support — particularly for children with reduced trunk control, increased tone, or motor restlessness.

Our SitSafe Cushion is different. Its high sides and supportive backrest create a stable frame around the child, promoting midline positioning and helping to prevent falling backwards or sideways. The connecting strap between the armrests enhances lateral stability and gently wraps the child to provide a sense of security and containment.

• Safer seated positioning• Improved trunk stability• Early mobilisation and edge-of-bed activities• Transfers and therapeutic interventions• Seated stability training

We’re proud to introduce the PostureSnug ‘Junior’ Positioning Cushion Range – thoughtfully designed and sized specifically for children.

At PostureSnug, we were founded to meet a clear need in the healthcare sector: a single, trusted source for 24-hour positioning and pressure care solutions, grounded in real-world clinical experience.

With our Bristol-based team operating nationwide with Occupational Therapists on staff, we’ve spent years working alongside children, families, and healthcare professionals across a broad spectrum of conditions and care environments. This hands-on experience has given us invaluable insight into what truly works in practice.

Our new Junior range has been developed using that clinical expertise, alongside feedback gathered from conferences, training events and exhibitions. The result is a collection of positioning cushions that provide effective support, improved comfort, and practical solutions for:

• Care homes
• Rehabilitation units
• Hospitals
• Schools and specialist settings
• Domestic environments

Because children deserve positioning solutions that are not simply smaller versions of adult products – but are specifically designed with their needs in mind.
