Collecting knowledge 😉

I like to get my info from lots of different sources.
I love to read, listen to podcasts, go on YouTube and go to actual yoga classes (both online and in person).

Having a little notebook to jot things down helps me keep everything in one place.

As I’ve got more confident in my own practice, I’ve got more discerning. I question things. Before I would have believed other people unquestionably, especially other teachers. Well they teach they must be right?!

Although sometimes it’s not a question of right or wrong. It’s a question of what’s right for you !

And being a teacher doesn’t make you “all knowing”. Believe me 🤣 I definitely don’t know everything, far from it! I’m constantly learning & reevaluating. It’s ok to change your mind.

Think about it - you believe one thing - are shown evidence it’s untrue or more complicated - you reevaluate your past position on the subject.

You’re allowed to change your mind, you’re allowed to grow.

40 minutes of restorative yin yoga.

Online class via zoom.

A restorative style yin yoga class.
Designed to promote deep rest.
Targeting connective tissues like your joints, ligaments and facia.

All you really need is a little bit of space to practice.
Bonus points if you have yoga blocks and/or normal pillows and blankets.

I’ve added a few more classes !

So in addition to SLOW FLOW on Wednesdays, I’m starting a Yin class on Thursday evenings - YIN IT TO WIN IT (I do luv a pun 🙈). This is a 40 minute zoom class and designed to help relax the mind & body.

Don’t worry if you don’t have fancy yoga equipment, I’ll show you ways to use pillows and blankets as props 🙌 so grab a cuppa and see you there !

And on Saturdays I’m opening up slots to do one to one sessions, as well as small private groups. We’ll do these sessions in the comfort of your own home, but when the weather gets nice we can venture outside.

I’m excited 🥰 and can’t wait to get teaching!

Just me and the boy chilling on the beach.

Was having a crappy mood day, didn’t feel like doing the physical aspects of yoga, the asana. But I knew that if I didn’t at least go out for a walk I’d feel a lot worse.

And that my friends is still yoga - listening to what you need.

So down to the beach I went, I love living here!
Being able to sit in front of the ocean whenever I feel like it …it is freaking awesome.

And for that little bit of time I felt ok.
No anxious thoughts - just being in the moment with buster on the beach.

Without even realising it, I think I’m collecting little moments of “ok” .

Slowly adding to my collection….evidence that it will be ok , feelings and thoughts are just temporary.

I think I want to visualise this in some way, start taking a photo every time I have a mindfulness moment or a moment where I feel at peace/ content. Document it, then create some massive photo collage at the end of the year?

SLOW FLOW every Wednesday in the Music Room 9:30 - 10:30 am.

A place to come as you are. Where we always take it slow and steady. Movement for your mind as well as your body.

Here’s a few things I will and won’t do :

- I will give variations
- I won’t assume everyone can do the same pose
- I will encourage the use of props…always ☺️
- I won’t film my class
- I will give my students space to find what feels good to them.
- I won’t give hands on assists ( right now it’s not in my practice to do, if I ever decide to offer it in the future it will ALWAYS be with explicit consent)
- I won’t expect everyone to look the same doing a pose or sequence…we’re all built differently and a pose will look different on everyone. Besides I’m not teaching a choreograph or dance class 🤣🤣🤣
