Passed away peacefully on Sunday 24th of May aged 82 years, with her daughters at her side. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Cremation to be held at Glasgow Crematorium on Friday 12th June at 10.30am.

Hendry Funeral Services Ltd will cease trading on 31st May 2026 due to retirement. Funerals of anyone in our care at that date will be carried out during June. Anyone who still has ashes of a relative with us please give us a call to arrange collection.

Peacefully at Arran War Memorial Hospital on 10th April 2026. Isla, aged 90 years, beloved wife of Mick, and amazing mum and granma to the family. Private burial followed by church service at St Molios Church, Shiskine on Friday, 24th April at 12:15pm to which all are welcome. It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of James (Jim) McCrae on 30th March at Crosshouse Hospital.
A much loved dad, brother, uncle and a true friend to so many, Jim will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Hartley – Katherine Margaret (nee Newton)

With great sadness we wish to inform you of the peaceful passing of Kate Hartley nee Newton on the 18th February 2026 at Arran War Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. A loving wife to the late John (Hacky), mother to Ailsa, Elaine and Mhairi and Shennie to Alisdair, Holly, Katie, Eilidh, Nicol, Lewis, Lachlan, Esme and Archie. Funeral service will be held at St Bride’s Church, Brodick on Thursday 5th of March at 11.30am and thereafter to Brodick New Cemetery where all are welcome. Family flowers only please. Collection will be for Crohn’s & Colitis UK and the Hospital Supporters League. Her family want to take the time to thank the staff at Arran War Memorial Hospital, Arran Medical Group, Care at Home and the District Nurses for their compassionate care during this time.

Funeral notice

NEW UPDATE - Following a review of the service, CalMac have reinstated the 7:45am sailing leaving Brodick but the last one back is 2pm. If anyone still wishes to go we can reinstate the transport from Troon but it will have to return to Troon straight after the service. We have to know how many people still want to travel in the coach so can you please message Shirley. 07950306498
Please make sure if you are traveling tomorrow on the 7:45am that you have a return booking for the 2pm as we have been advised that spaces are limited.

EDIT - Sorry folks but due to the cancelation of the 8:20 and now the 7:45 am ferries the transport will be cancelled. If anyone wants to travel today and needs transport phone Shirley on the number below.

McConnell - William Iain
Suddenly on 29th January 2026 in Clauchan Glen, Isle of Arran, with his dog Joe by his side. Iain, aged 64 years, beloved husband of Shirley, father to Alan, Glenn and Dayni, papa to Ruairidh and Finlay, brother of Jack, Anne and Calum. Funeral service at Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium on Monday, 2nd March at 11:00am to which all are welcome. Family flowers only please, collection for Arran Mountain Rescue Team. Transport available from the 08:20 ferry leaving Brodick and returning for the 15:15 leaving Ardrossan after a stop off at the Waterside Hotel.
