Imagine waking up on 1st January having started (or resetting from now) Slimming World 3 months previous, having got as much support as you need through all the Christmas celebrations, New Year celebrations and everything that goes with that, 1 Stone lighter (or more!). Just imagine how that would feel, how you would feel and how it would set you up for continued success in 2026!

It’s with great sadness to annouce that out founder and chair has sadly passed away. Our thoughts are with her family.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE passed away earlier today, surrounded by her family.

As well as being our guiding star and the beating heart and soul of Slimming World, Margaret will be remembered for being a much loved mum, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Since founding our precious organisation 55 years ago, she has loved, nurtured and protected it – along with each and every member, staff member and Consultant who’s been a part of the Slimming World family. Margaret steered her ship in the way she lived her life – with a generous spirit, passionate conviction, a wicked (and rebellious!) sense of humour and a fierce belief in doing the right thing.

Her determination to help people shed the burden of excess weight without shame or guilt has seen Slimming World grow from a single group in 1969 to the global authority in weight management that it is today. She undoubtedly touched hearts and changed lives for millions of people – and for all of us who knew and loved her. She’ll continue to do so for many more years to come.

Our thoughts are with Margaret’s family. We take comfort, as we’re sure they do, in the hope that Margaret is now reunited with her beloved Tony – sailing off into the sunset together. https://bit.ly/42F5Eia

Some of you will already have met and know Gell Bentley….she is the newest member of my SW Team….and what an addition she is!

She has welcomed in 27 new members so far this January and has doubled the group membership of her group.

Success is what we want for our members with their own weight loss journey and when they take that leap of faith and pay that success forward to the local area we want them to be successful at that too.

My role within Slimming World is to help all of my members to achieve their desired weight loss. I owe my members so much, your loyalty to me has been IMMENSE, I am slowly rebuilding my work life with the total support and dedication of my wonderful members.

My ‘other’ role within Slimming World is to open groups within Bromley to help even more people to achieve success. I support brand new Consultants and help my team to develop their skill set to offer exceptional service. Gell has been amazing, she’s only been in the role a few short weeks, but the first class training she’s received at head office, my support, your support and the support of her members is seeing her flourish.

We are looking for more team mates, push aside any worries you have about the role, come and find out the facts….its only then you can make a judgement if it’s something that you can fit in/do.
