First step towards a pull-up. 💪🏻💪🏻

One of the goals the ladies mentioned recently was learning how to do a pull-up… so today we started working towards it.

We began with incline pull-ups on the new squat rack, which are a great way to build the strength needed for the full movement.

Strength training is all about progression.
You don’t just suddenly do a pull-up one day — you build up to it step by step.

✔️ Learning the movement
✔️ Building back and arm strength
✔️ Growing confidence with each session

Strength training is one of the most important things women can do during perimenopause and menopause.

As our hormones change, we naturally start to lose muscle mass and bone density. This can affect our metabolism, strength and how our bodies feel day to day.

The good news is that strength training helps fight back against this.

Lifting weights and doing resistance exercises helps us maintain muscle, support our bones, improve metabolism and stay strong for everyday life.

It’s not about becoming a bodybuilder.
It’s about being strong, capable and confident in your body as you age.

And doing it together like this makes it even better.🩷🩷

A quieter class last night… but a powerful one.

With a smaller group we slowed everything down and focused on technique, control and getting the basics right. Sometimes going back to fundamentals is exactly what your body needs.

No rushing. No chaos. Just learning how to move well and build real strength.

The feedback at the end?
“That was hard… but I feel like I actually learnt something.”

Hi, I’m Sam — a 52-year-old mum of six who decided at 50 that it was finally my time.

Like many women, I spent years putting everyone else first. But when I hit 50, I realised something had to change. I wanted to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in my own body — and I knew other women my age probably felt the same. So I started with studying nutrition, because I wanted to understand how to properly fuel our bodies as we get older. But very quickly I realised something was missing…

Exercise. Strength. Movement.💪🏻💪🏻

That realisation led me to train as a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer, and then go even further by qualifying in Boxercise and boxing coaching with the Hatton Academy.🥊🥊

My goal has always been simple:
To help women in their 40s and 50s feel strong, capable, and confident again.

Because let’s be honest — walking into a gym and being coached by someone half your age isn’t always comfortable. I wanted to create something different. A space where women feel understood, supported, and empowered.

I was once told that focusing on women in midlife was “too niche.”
But I believe it’s exactly where the biggest difference can be made.

This isn’t about quick fixes or shrinking ourselves.

It’s about getting stronger, building confidence, and feeling good in our bodies again. And if you’re a woman in your 40s or 50s who wants to start that journey — you’re exactly who I’m here for. 🩷🩷

Rachel has been with me from the very beginning 🩷

These photos say it all… but what you don’t see is the consistency, the effort, and the commitment she’s shown week after week. 🩷

She trains with me at least twice a week (sometimes three 💪), keeps up her boxing fitness classes, and has completely transformed not just her weight — but her strength, confidence, and body shape.

And here’s the truth…

This didn’t come from endless cardio.
This came from weights. 💪🏻🩷

Building strength has completely changed Rachel’s body — stronger, more defined, more capable.

I’m SO proud of how far she’s come 🔥

We’re still going… and the best is yet to come 👊
