Feel like I've been hit by a car πŸ˜… maybe because I was...! Pumped just to be at the start line for World Champs AG Sprint Triathlon after some tricky race prep, but very happy with 23rd and 9th Brit on an honest course in πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

While out testing the bike, I was taken out from behind by a car. A lot of body maintenance, bike repairing, and police admin πŸ™ˆ

Getting to a race start is never a one man operation πŸ™πŸΌ A huuuuuuge amount of help from other people even before getting to Spain, let alone once here, thank you so much 😊 πŸ™πŸΌ never underestimate the help you support someone with, it goes a long way and one of the strongest ways of uniting fellow beings!

I have a lot of bikes in my feed. I have a lot of bikes in bedroom too, I mean garage! The list of benefits for cycling are long and well known, but I spend a lot of time conditioning for all things cycling

- quads get strong, but generally short and sticky
- hip flexors in constant flexion, zero lengthening. Sit at your drsk, then exercise in the same position makes no human sense
- MTBs are better but shoulders are rounded, lower back kyphotic, upper back excesseivly kyphotic, neck compressed
- the legs move but as far as sports go, its pretty sedentary
- ankling is fairly minimal, limiting dorsi/plantar flexion. Calves, soleus & achillies strong but stiff
- the lats, pecs, traps all short and weak!
- its linear, horribly horribly linear, abductors lengthen and abductors shorten
- its fixed, especially if clipped, there is no open chain to let the body seek freedom
- the hamstrings are underused, weaken and shorten 😫
- The bike responds to symmetry, yet we are asymmetrical, something will rebel

Before you toss your Victorian invention in the bin, there are so many amazing positives to cycling, you'll be well aware of. Firstly, they're so much fun! And socially getting outside among the elements and the green BUT antidote this shape wi conditioning to regain / remain a healthy human body!
