Looking forward to this Saturday's Fun Day for Keyham. The willow rods are soaking and tomorrow they come out of the cold bath to mellow for 48hrs. The rods will be bendy for you to make 3D leaf designs which will be used to decorate the crown of the tree. Other activities in the fun day I'm looking forward to are storytelling, plant sale, cooking snacks on the fire with the Scouts. See you there. 🌱

Help finish creating a large willow tree sculpture at KGP FAMILY FUN DAY on Saturday 26th July 2025, from 11-3 pm.

The willow tree sculpture should be installed by the end of the day on Saturday for the people of Plymouth to enjoy for years to come.

Here is a photograph of the beautiful spears we made inspired by Ash, the World Tree, on Sunday's March 16th Circle of Trees. We honoured the collective roots of life and our own origins, careful to include symbols of infinite possibilities as the ash trees' seeds (called ash keys) amongst the underground, unseen but felt roots of life. From the roots we grow our 'trunk', the present here and now. Right now, in March, we like nature may feel the stirring of urgings and the impulse to push up and out of the hibernation of winter, releasing spring energy that tumbles and surges into summer growth. It can be an ambivalent time, as who wants to leave the cosy den? Releasing our spears, voicing intentions under the gaze of the many huge ash trees in the valley, our crust-breaking action is fun, satisfying and brings insight, as someone put it "I have a voice!" Ash shows us resilience, and to not give up. As the next ash tree generations grow from the parent keys, may be they'll be better resistant to ash dieback disease. Outcome can always change, if we hold space for possibilities.

Just attended an enriching training by School of Play and Creative Therapies in Web Therapy: ways of working with the systems around a child. Having a dynamic, very active brain means that I have to doodle in order to focus and learn.
