Never underestimate the journey of progress.
And never underestimate the work happening under the surface.

Whether you’re working on your appearance, your strength, your gut health, your mindset, your energy… it all counts. It all matters.

There are two years between these photos.
Two years of inner battles.
Two years of learning to be happy with who I am, how I do things, and why I do them — even when it doesn’t look like the “norm.”

Those battles haven’t completely gone… but what has grown is self-acceptance.
Knowing we all do the best we can with what we know at the time — and that is enough.

Today, I’m so proud of her.
So proud of the brave, courageous steps she took… because without her, I wouldn’t be me now.

And I’m also proud of the woman from 20 years ago.
No matter how scared she felt, she still took the actions that changed the course of my life.

Oh my goodness, did she wobble.
Daily wobbles. Big wobbles. Quiet wobbles no one ever saw.
And yes… sometimes I still wobble now.

But I trust that the wobbles I have today are building the strength of the woman I’ll be in two years’ time.

So pause for a moment.

Look in the mirror.
And appreciate everything you are doing right now for your future self.

✨ Sunday reflections…

It started with Pancake Day… 🥞
But it’s turned into something much bigger.

Five days ago, we were chatting about Lent—what it means, whether it matters, and if it’s something we wanted to take part in.

I’ve never really done Lent before… until now.

And if you know me, you’ll know I don’t do things by halves 😅

So this year, I’ve given up:
✨ Sugar
✨ Wheat / gluten

I’m now on day 5… and wow.

The noise has been loud.

“Go on… just a bit of chocolate.”
“A slice of fresh bread with butter wouldn’t hurt…”

And it got me thinking…

Was I actually hungry?
Or was it habit?

Because when I really sat with it…
I realised something quite powerful.

I don’t need to snack constantly.
I don’t need something sweet after every meal.
I don’t need to give in to every craving.

At some point, these things just became normal.

But normal doesn’t always mean necessary.

And that’s what these last few days have shown me…

✨ What else am I holding onto out of habit?
✨ What could I gently let go of—not as punishment, but as awareness?

This isn’t about restriction.
It’s about curiosity.

Because that awareness?
That’s where change begins 💛

So I’m curious…

Wow… what a week in group 🤍

Considering this week included Valentine’s Day ❤️ and Pancake Day 🥞, our members still achieved an incredible 4½ stone loss (45lbs!) 👏

We also celebrated:

✨ Two Half Stone awards
✨ A Stone award
✨ A member reaching her personal target and moving into maintaining
Because this isn’t just about losing weight — it’s about learning how to keep it off confidently.

We’ve been chatting about real life too…
✔️ How to enjoy a birthday carvery and make it work
✔️ Dessert trolley or celebratory Prosecco? (Yes, you can choose!)
✔️ Tackling evening munchies
✔️ Celebrating non-scale victories — like fitting back into pre-pregnancy jeans

And if childcare has ever stopped you joining a group… please know children are always welcome 🤍 Babies included. Real life is welcome here.

That’s what I love about Slimming World — no foods banned, no life events off limits, just real support and real results.
