🥔 A Traditional Sunday Roast… Slimming World Style! 🥕✨
One of the meals I used to struggle with the most when I first joined Slimming World was the classic roast dinner. Because honestly… how on earth could something I grew up eating — cooked in lard, fat, full-fat meat, skin-on, mountains of stuffing and proper gravy — ever fit into Food Optimising?

A roast was the staple in my childhood home.
We didn’t just have a roast on Sundays… we had one every single day! It was the very first meal I learned to cook, it fed everyone happily, and it’s still one of my favourites today.

But here’s the magic ➡️ you absolutely CAN make it Slimming World friendly.
And it can be every bit as comforting, tasty and satisfying as the one you grew up with. 💛

Just look at these roast potatoes…
Golden, crispy, gorgeous — and totally FREE.
No SWIPS at all because I use low-cal spray instead of lard or fat.
Honestly, they hit the spot every time.

Then we’ve got:
🥬 Loads of Speed veg (more than a third — it takes centre stage now!)
🍗 Lean meat — still juicy, still delicious, still part of that classic roast feel.
🧆 Stuffing options — I haven’t got it on this plate, but when I fancy it I either:
• make up the SWIPS value for traditional stuffing or
• use Linda McCartney red onion & rosemary sausages, defrosted and rolled into stuffing balls — Free and so tasty!
🍯 Gravy — sometimes I use granules, sometimes I make it my usual way… but I’m mindful now and balance the rest of the plate around it.

And that’s the beauty of Food Optimising:
You don’t have to lose the meals you adore.
You just learn how to make them work for your journey instead of against it.

❤️ A roast dinner is still a staple in my week, still comforting, still nostalgic — but now it supports my goals rather than pulling me off track.

Who else used to dread the “what on earth am I having for lunch?” moment 🙋‍♀️
Honestly… it used to always be a sandwich. Quick? Yes. Easy? Yes.
Boring and same-y? Also yes 😅

But today’s lunch? A total win.
Not leftovers… more like planned-overs 😉 I just made extra dinner last night, warmed it up this morning and popped it straight into my thermos lunch flask. Zero stress. Zero faff. Maximum flavour.

And breakfast didn’t half set me up — poached eggs on toast (my HEB) with beans on the other slice. Proper comfort, proper filling, and all totally Food Optimising.

It feels so good to be out of that lunch-time panic cycle and actually look forward to what I’m eating.

Make some noise for Claire! She lost a jaw-dropping 18st 7.5lbs (117.7kg) and is our Woman of the Year 2025 👑🌟!

At her heaviest, Claire felt at rock bottom. Her weight affected every part of her life, and though she longed to start a family she couldn’t conceive 💔. Hoping to lose enough weight to have IVF, Claire joined Slimming World – and just nine months later, she’d lost 8st 7.5lbs (54.2kg)… and conceived naturally!

Fast forward to now, and Claire has two gorgeous children and a healthy and happy future with them ahead 🤗.

If you’ve ever eaten and then instantly felt ashamed… this one’s for you.

We’re so quick to call ourselves “lazy” or “out of control”… but the truth is, our bodies are still wired for survival.
🐾 Back in our hunter-gatherer days, food was scarce — so eating when food is available? That’s ancient biology, not failure.
🛌 Resting doesn’t make you lazy either. Our bodies were designed to conserve energy… in case a sabre-toothed tiger popped up!

We don’t know until we know — and once we understand why we do what we do, we can finally start changing it with kindness, not shame. 💛

✨ What an incredible week in group! ✨

I’m bursting with pride for every single one of my amazing members. This week alone, together, they’ve achieved an incredible 29.5lbs loss! 🎉

We celebrated two brand-new Club 10 awards — such a powerful milestone.

Oh my gosh… it’s officially Christmas sandwich season already! 🎅🥪✨
Every coffee shop I walk past has their festive sarnie out, and the supermarkets are full of them too!

But don’t worry — here at Slimming World we’re not letting you miss out. We’ve got a gorgeous make-at-home version with sweet cranberry sauce, smoky bacon, tender chicken and a lovely crunchy salad… all the Christmassy goodness without going off plan 🙌💛
