My final talk of 2025 sparked something I didn’t see coming.
All year I’d been sharing a story about the natural cycle our brains and bodies move through when we experience stress.
How we all have a window where we feel steady and safe enough.
How life can knock us into survival mode.
How our nervous system responds in intelligent, protective ways.
And how, with the right conditions, we can widen that window again.
In December, at a talk hosted by , artist was in the audience.
He heard the story and wanted to translate it into art.
What has unfolded is a visual exhibition exploring stress, survival, capacity and glimmers.
I’m genuinely excited about this project.
Not just because it brings to life what I speak about in a completely different way…
But because this message matters hugely.
It’s something we can all relate to.
It’s something I believe we all need more awareness of.
It affects every single one of us.
The exhibition will be on display at Fluid Motion, Totton from Thursday 5 March to Friday, 27 March.
If you’re nearby, please come and experience it.
And if you know of a space where this exhibition could travel next, I’d love to hear from you - please get in touch with either me or Martin.
Huge thanks to Ali Gill and Leigh Johnstone of motion theatre for collaborating with us and to .cultureconnects and for funding the project.
