The other day, a lovely lady visited me and shared something that really stuck with me…

She has beautiful daughters and while looking at a photo of one of them, a work colleague said:
“She must look like her dad then!”
In other words… “She’s beautiful. You’re not.”

If that wasn’t cruel enough, she even felt the need to show them a younger photo of herself and they laughed and said,
“What happened?!”

Let’s be honest. That’s not banter. That’s bullying in a blazer.

🛑 This kind of behaviour is nasty, unnecessary, and it hurts.
Words stick.
Especially when you’re already feeling insecure.
Especially when you already hate having your photo taken.

It took me right back to school a boy once said to me:
“Ew, you’ve got a mole under your eye.”
(It’s a freckle, actually.)

I still remember it.

Here’s the truth:
✨ If you’ve got nothing kind to say then say nothing.
✨ Stop judging. Stop mocking.

This is more than a treatment… 💉✨

It’s been a busy week playing catch up after my holiday 🧳 and while I’ve done lots of treatments, a few things really hit home yesterday 💭💛

One woman came in heartbroken 💔 after her partner cheated. She’s started smoking again 🚬, felt fed up 😞, and just needed something. Yes, we did a consultation for her face 💆🏼‍♀️ but it became a chat about life, healing, and rebuilding her confidence 🌿🕊️. She left feeling that little bit lighter, and I know she’ll rise 💪🏼👑

Another lovely lady in her 70s had been elsewhere, and the work was… too much 😔 It didn’t reflect her. We dissolved it and started again 🧴 yesterday I looked at her lips and thought: they look beautiful 💋 Subtle, age-appropriate, and soft. She looked like herself again 👵🏻💕

A younger girl shared that her boyfriend had left, then came crawling back 🙄 She’d had tweakments, but I could see something deeper had shifted. She walked taller 👠 More empowered. I reminded her: don’t let anyone mess you around, queen 👑💁🏼‍♀️ Sometimes the tweak is in the mind, not just the face 🧠✨

🛑 Nope. It’s not a tattoo, hun. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler is temporary your body naturally breaks it down over time.

At school, I used to get bullied every day for having big lips.

It went on for years and I remember feeling so self-conscious about something I couldn’t change.

Fast forward to now…
Lips are my favourite treatment to do because they’re one of our most beautiful features.
Isn’t it mad how the very thing I got picked on for is now one of the most desired features out there?

Nicola Broxup is the director and owner of Enchanted Aesthetics, she is an experienced Registered Nurse with a wealth of experience working in the NHS as a Sister, Team Leader and Matron.

She has multiple qualifications in Nursing including Nurse Prescribing and has undertaken specialist training in Medical Aesthetics.

Nicola is passionate about her work and incorporates her medical knowledge and her creative eye to ensure her patient receive the very best natural enhancements. She uses the best quality products to ensure patient safety and in 2019 she opened her clinic in Burnley, Lancashire.
