Every Saturday at valley street community centre, please share this flyer as much as possible and let’s get some good numbers down 🙏

Our family and friends zoom won’t be going ahead tonight but will be back as normal from next week. Sorry for any inconvenience 🙏

Unfortunately as of tonight our in person Burnley meeting on a Friday will be cancelled, we had really strong numbers in summer and as the months have gone on the numbers have dropped massively, we’ve had nobody turn up for a good number of weeks now, there’s plenty of online meetings which is brilliant and means people can join a meeting from home, we may look at going again when the summer months come but we’ll see, there is an online meeting on a Friday with birchwood 6-7pm and an American one called K.W.H.O.L.E 10-11pm for anyone needing a meeting, all our online meeting’s will run as normal on a Monday and Thursday and our group chats are still there for anyone needing around the clock support, thank you 🙏

Yesterdays we finished off our 19th session in Burnley college, first of all massive thank you to our volunteers who came and shared their own journeys and knowledge with each group we did Mark Gregory Youcef Zitouni Josh Reeder it’s very much appreciated as always lads🙏 we always try and get a rough idea on who knows what about ketamine when we do our talks and i want to share some rough stats and information with you all to double down on the reason we do what we do, over the 19 sessions we talked to around 300 young people age 16-18 year old, out of the 300 students around 280 knew what ketamine was, however the scary part is the depth of the knowledge they have, the most in depth feedback we got on what ketamine was and the harm it causes was “it’s a horse tranq” and “it does something to your bladder”, some of these young people will already be exposed to ketamine or be exposed in the coming months/years and if their knowledge isn’t deeper we are going to carry on in an endless cycle of ketamine addicts coming through the system! And we refuse to sit back and watch that happen! We then asked the same question at the end of the sessions and the knowledge they know hold is so much more in depth and for us that means we’ve done our jobs, we can’t change the world, we can’t stop everyone taking ketamine, but what we can do is give people a deep personal account of what ketamine really is and how it really effects us and the people around us, talk about the risk of overdose and how to best deal with that, and also offer and signpost anyone struggling now or in the future to the right services.🙏

This week has been a busy one for us at K.E.S we’re half way through 19 sessions at Burnley college as we speak, we’ve also been into the Hollins and st Augustine’s schools along side WithYou. We don’t usually share the feedback we receive on here but I want to share some feedback we received today from a talk we did this week, this feedback makes all the pain and consequences in addiction worth while as it’s being used in a positive way to prevent some of our young people from following that path🤞

“Good morning Finley,
We just wanted to express our heartfelt thanks for taking the time yesterday to share your story with our pupils and staff.
The impact you made is truly immeasurable. Since your visit, our pupils have been engaging in thoughtful and mature conversations — not only about ketamine and the dangers surrounding it, but also about your personal journey, the challenges you’ve faced, and the resilience you showed in turning things around. Your honesty and openness resonated with them in a way that few messages ever do.
Several staff members have stopped me to share their gratitude, commenting on how powerful, moving, and necessary your session was. I’ve also received emails from parents who were deeply touched by what their children shared at home. It is clear your words reached far beyond the walls of the room yesterday and have sparked meaningful reflection throughout our school community.
Thank you again for giving your time, your energy, and such a meaningful piece of yourself. Your visit has made a genuine difference, and we are truly grateful”

Today we went into St John rigby college in Wigan, when we go into a school or college we make sure that although our talks are very ketamine related we also tie in mental health and addiction as a whole to make sure we are covering as much ground as possible within the sessions, we are huge advocate’s for encouraging young people to start honest conversations about how they really feel and not just being part of the generic “I’m good” response that so many people give on a day to day basis because it feels too vulnerable to be truly honest.
we’ve got a lot of negative influences on social media around mental health and addiction who push the “man up” ideologies and the idea it’s weak to talk especially as a man, and we try to do our bit to prove that it’s very much the opposite and infact often leads directly to behaviours such as addiction when we think this way, find people you trust and start getting honest about what’s really going on in your head! You never know you might save someone’s life!

thank you to Josh Reeder for sharing your story, Josh’s story really is inspiring, the way he’s bounced back after dealing with some of the physical consequences he has dealt with is amazing, josh walked into our kethub several months ago desperate for change… and he’s made it happen, he’s a true inspiration to anyone that no matter how bad things get there is a way back! Josh is also a massive help to K.E.S in general so also a massive thank you for that pal 🤝 #
