🦵 Monday Physio Tip: My Go-To Exercise? Single-Leg Balance! 🧠

If I had to choose just one exercise to recommend, it would be single-leg balance—and here’s why:

1. It strengthens the connection between the upper trunk and lower limbs, promoting full-body coordination.
2. It’s closely linked to postural control and neck-related issues, helping reduce strain through improved alignment.
3. It reduces the risk of falls by improving proprioception and reactive balance.
4. It enhances lower limb stability, which supports almost all forms of movement—from sport to stair climbing.
5. It activates lateral hip stabilisers like the gluteus medius, which helps:

Ease lower back pain through better pelvic control

Reduce stress on knees and decrease hip and knee pain during functional tasks

Prevent overuse injuries in active individuals—especially in runners and field athletes.

Improve gait, ankle control, and core stability

You don’t need fancy equipment to start—just stand on one leg for 30 seconds. Want a challenge? Try it with your eyes closed, on an unstable surface, or while turning your head.
