Do you live in West Lancashire and know someone living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or who may be vulnerable?

🚨 If you have a family member, friend, or someone you care for in West Lancashire who is living with dementia or has vulnerabilities that could put them at risk of going missing, we’re asking you to consider completing a Herbert Protocol form.

📝 What is the Herbert Protocol? It’s a simple form that records important information such as: - Key contact details - Places the person likes to visit - Medical needs or risks - Anything that could help officers locate them quickly and safely While it is especially helpful for those living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, it can also support any vulnerable person who may go missing.

📱 New: NFC Tags We are also introducing NFC (Near Field Communication) tags. Anyone in West Lancashire who completes a Herbert Protocol form may be issued with an NFC tag, which can be carried on a keyring or personal item. If found, it can help responders quickly access essential information and get the right help faster.

🔒 Your information is safe We understand how important privacy is. Any information you provide: - Will be securely stored on police systems - Will not be shared unless necessary to help locate or safeguard the individual - Will only be accessed by relevant personnel when required

💡 Why it matters Having this information ready in advance can save valuable time during a missing person investigation and significantly improve outcomes

📲 Please complete the following link if you live in West Lancs, which will feed directly back to PC 2135. If you have any further questions, please email her directly on 2135@lancashire.police.uk.

Fill out the form here https://www.medicalert.org.uk/create-account-herbert/

If this could help someone you know in West Lancashire, please consider completing a form.

*** Meningococcal (MenB) vaccination *** - information for students!

NHS England has asked GP practices to provide the MenB vaccine to a small number of students linked to the meningococcal outbreak in Canterbury, Kent, if they have returned home.

Whilst we understand this may be a worrying time, it is clear that is it going to be unlikely for many of our local residents to need vaccination under the current criteria that has been set for GP practices nationally.

ONLY if you have been advised that you are eligible and are currently living locally, please contact reception and inform them that your request relates to the MenB vaccination that is linked to the Canterbury outbreak.

If you have been advised that you are eligible, it is likely you will have been contacted by your university, school, or public health officials because you:

• live in specific halls of residence in Canterbury
• attended certain venues in Canterbury between 5–16 March, or
• have been identified as a close contact of a confirmed case

If you have not been contacted directly, you DO NOT need to contact the practice about vaccination.
