Dear Residents, Families and Loved Ones,
I wanted to update you following a small fire that occurred at Burscough Manor on 10 January. The fire started in a kitchen cupboard and was isolated very quickly thanks to the swift and professional response of our team. We were extremely pleased to see that the investment in staff training was clearly evident in how confidently and calmly the team acted.
We are also grateful to the local fire service for their prompt support. Most importantly, all residents and staff are safe and well, and there were no injuries.
As a result of the incident:
Use of the kitchen is currently limited, as we are deep cleaning the area that was affected, we are working to restore it as quickly as possible.
The heating system has just been re booted, and we have an engineer on site currently, but it will take a few hours to restore and heat the boilers that fuel the heating so it may be a bit chilly in parts of the home today. We will ensure all our residents are kept warm.
There may be limited impact on our ability to provide hot food this morning, but we are doing everything possible to minimise disruption.
We are hopeful that all services will be fully restored later this morning.
We will continue to keep you informed and are working hard to ensure residents remain comfortable, supported and well cared for throughout.
Thank you for your understanding and kindness
