Hello to my new followers! 👋🏽

It’s been a while since I introduced myself and SO much has changed!

My name is Tori Alexia, I’m a mother, midwife, medical acupuncturist, antenatal class instructor & property developer! (Thts a lot when listed!😵)

I left NHS employment just after my sons 1st Birthday after realising I couldn’t get the work life balance right and chose to prioritise motherhood.

A massive factor in my decision to leave the NHS was my own personal birth experience and work with Although I was well aware of the downfalls of the system and harm the over medicalisation of childbirth was causing, I felt so strongly after becoming a mother myself, that I couldn’t be a part of that system anymore.

I am an advocate of informed choice, empowerment of families and birth rights! 💪🏽

❤️I am a foodie, sufferer of imposter syndrome, music lover and science geek! I struggle with body image and saying NO, but mainly, I’m a woman, who wants to hold space for other women in a time & society where the value of mothering has been lost 🤰🏼

I hope to meet some of you in person soon!

Carpal Tunnel syndrome ... 🖐🏽 .

CTS causes pain, numbness and tingling sensations in the hand and wrist. It is caused by swelling (odema) which collects in the joints and compresses a major nerve in the hand and wrist. .

Studies in 2012 & 2016 showed acupuncture helped CTS by remapping the brain which changed pain signals and by increasing blood flow to the area, healed damaged nerves! .

“What does Acupuncture feel like?” 🧐

This is a question I am commonly asked. I use the finest stainless steel needles which are coated to ensure smooth insertion.

During a standard treatment, particular points on the body (acupuncture points) are felt for, needles are then inserted to achieve the desired outcome. The point of insertion is not likely to hurt or feel like a sharp prick, the sensation is described as ‘de qi’, it is a phenomenon and characteristic individual to acupuncture alone 🙏🏽 It can be described as:

✨ Warmth
