1st Class Support & Housing is looking for a highly-skilled, motivated and experienced committed Children's Home Deputy Manager for a brand new children’s home located in Grays, Essex

The Deputy Manager will assist with setting up the Children’s home and Ofsted’s registration. The home will look after up to three young people of mixed gender, aged between 8-18 with emotional, behavioural or educational difficulties.

Your primary responsibilities in this Residential Children's Deputy Home Manager role will include:

• Deputising for the Manager as and when required.
• Monitor and evaluate clear Child protection procedures within the home, in line with the Protection of Children Act and Company Policies.
• Assist with staff development and training
• Actively promote and support safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory bodies, including Ofsted, Fire Authority, Health and Safety Executive and Environmental Health

Requirements:

• Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare or equivalent
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent (desirable)
• 1 year experience of working with abused children in a residential setting
• Full UK Driving Licence with access to your own transport
• Knowledge and working experience of Ofsted regulations and legislation
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service
• Experience of working effectively with young people with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (essential)
