Exploring the Past at Beamish!

Our Adventure Companion carer (Adele) took three local older people on a fantastic supported day out to Beamish Museum yesterday. Each of them needed a little extra help to get out and about, but with Adele’s support, they enjoyed a brilliant day!

They loved exploring the 1950s town, popping into the old shops, tucking into a warm pie from the bakery and having proper chips cooked in beef dripping 😃

Adventure Companions is more than just a day out; it’s about helping people reconnect with favourite places, make new memories, and experience the world again with professional support on hand.

With summer upon us, we understand that getting out and about can be challenging for some. If you need support to enjoy the season, our experienced health and social care professionals are here to help.

Fancy a trip out in May?
Each month we arrange a number of group outings which you can book with Adventure Companions.

Each trip has a maximum of 4 places so book early!
This is what we have planned for the first week in May:

2nd May - Gretna Green Shopping Trip & Cafe
7th May - Houghton Hall shopping & lunch
9th May - Shopping at Lakeland followed by lunch

Our companions can collect you from home, help you get ready for the trip and help you with any health or mobility needs.
If you want to visit a different place, just contact Adele and she can make the arrangements.
