This time, Nick's making a pit stop in Banchory, Aberdeenshire to visit our good friend Darren Morrison of DM Mechanical Services. Darren's the kind of guy who can fix up any tractor, no matter how stubborn. He's practically a magician with an engine!

John Deere 6155R with EGR position errors, EGR codes sorted out. Tuned to 195 hp off boost and 225 hp on boost at the pto. When the EGR is closed this increases the amount of gas that has to travel through the turbine housing, which if the turbo control is not recalibrated correctly it will over speed the turbocharger and lead to failure. This week alone we have seen two turbocharger failures directly connected to franchise tuning companies not recalibrating the VGT control after closing the EGR valve on John Deere engines! The amount of sub standard software that's on the market is unbelievable, don't believe the advertising and marketing nonsense the big franchising companies only want to take people's money they are not interested in the actual job.

Another day and yet more vehicles with all the error code tables deleted. The market is flooded by franchising clowns. We had two more tractors last week here showing no codes for anything you unplugged

Yet another example of poor engine software, our friends in Ireland have had this JCB 4220 in today that's been previously tuned. It was extremely poor on fuel. The current software has all the error code table deleted, as you can see in the video you can unplug engine sensors and it doesn't show any faults. This is extremely dangerous as the engine doesn't have any of the inbuilt protection now plus it's pretty much impossible to carry out any diagnostic work! Sadly we see this more and more!
