As this year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the many families I’ve had the privilege of working with — not just this year, but over all the years gone by. To be invited into such personal moments of love, loss, remembrance, and story is something I never take lightly.

Christmas and the end of the year can be a time of joy for some, and a very difficult time for others — especially for those missing someone they love. Please know that you are not forgotten. I hold you in my thoughts, alongside my own family, and I honour the people you carry in your hearts.

It continues to be an honour and a privilege doing what I do, and to meet such extraordinary people in circumstances that are often very hard. Thank you for the trust you place in me, and for allowing me to help tell the stories that matter.

As the season unfolds, I wish you moments of kindness, gentleness, and connection — whatever Christmas looks like for you this year. May you be surrounded by care, and may the coming year bring you comfort and steady hope. ✨🎄❤️

I don’t often share things on here, but I’ve been meaning to post something very special.

A while ago, I had the honour of working with a truly wonderful lady and her family as we celebrated her mum’s life.
Afterward, she wrote me this beautiful poem — something that touched me deeply (as had the one’s she wrote for her mum). I’m so grateful for her kindness and talent.

I am so very honoured to be able to do the job that I do. 💜

“The Celebrant”

What even is a celebrant?
Harry said that she would ring,
All these words are new to me,
Another stress that grief would bring!

He said her name was Anna,
As I scribbled down her number
I thought , what do I even say?
To a stranger, about my mother!

I typed the number in my phone
And my heart it raced away,
You answered very quickly,
I didn’t know what to say!

Your tone was kind and gentle,
But had a strength that held a force,
I knew right then you’d do me proud,
And that you’d be my voice

You guided us so carefully
Helped my decisions along their way,
Always there to help me
Anytime of day!

My mum would of loved you,
Your style, your grace, your flare,
The bright blue dress and killer heels,
I wish that she’d been there

You captured her so perfectly
Read my poems as they were meant,
So I wrote this one, just for you
So I could make You cry again ❤️

Such generous words!

On behalf of myself and the whole family, I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to you for the wonderfully moving service at Macclesfield yesterday.

The time you spent with P. and latterly with her son and myself plus the effort and meaning you put into the eulogy and reflection clearly shone through in your tribute.

The whole congregation commented
on how lovely and uplifting the service was.
Once again thank you.

After having the privilege of delivering the eulogy in church and all of the service at the crematorium for a very special family I was so touched to afterwards receive this.

Thank you so much for helping me and my children to get through the church and crematorium on the day of my wife’s funeral.

The eulogy that you read meant so much to us all, it was full of sincere thoughts and read with such compassion.

Your contribution to the service was so special, a lot of people mentioned to us that they thought you were so professional at what you do so once again, thank you.

It is always so wonderful to receive such lovely words from families I have had the honour of working with.

‘I would like to express my gratitude for conducting my father’s funeral so sensitively last week. It went very well and I have had lots of lovely messages from the people who streamed it also. So a big thank you from myself and all the family
Kind regards
C’
