Helen Nixon-Lea Massage Therapy

Helen Nixon-Lea Massage Therapy As a Sports & Remedial and Pregnancy Massage Therapist, I love to be able to make a real difference

I am never happier than when I help my clients feel their absolute best. This might cover aspects of daily life, or to help achieve particular physical goals. I love meeting people and when I meet with clients I strive to learn about their story, this enables me to plan the correct support for easing pain, improving movement, or enhancing performance. I am also trained in pregnancy massage, allowing me to work with those expectant mums looking to continue their fitness regimes or those who are looking for a more soothing and tranquil treatment.

So heartbreaking for Liv and her family, please do what you can to support this cause.

Dear Wellbeing Clinic Community,

We’re reaching out today with a deeply personal message from one of our therapists, Liv, who suffered the loss of her little boy Rufus on May 4th when a car tragically reversed into him. Rufus died in Liv’s arms, just before turning three. As Liv and her family navigate this unimaginable loss, they are honouring Rufus’s memory by raising funds for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance — the emergency service that responded in their time of need.

If you feel able, please take a moment to visit Liv’s JustGiving page and contribute. Your support — whether through a donation or simply sharing the link — means so much.

There’s something special about returning to the classroom — the place where this journey began. Being hands-on, learning new techniques, enhancing knowledge, and continuing to grow as a therapist reminds me why I started in the first place.

Last week I was back at cotswold_academy for a Trigger Point Therapy course. It was a fantastic time learning alongside other wonderful therapists.

A trigger point is a hyper tense, band of tissue within a muscle, tendon, fascia - basically, any soft tissue in the body. It can cause pain where it is — or can refer pain in a completely different area. These points often form from overuse, poor posture, or stress, and can restrict movement.

Massage therapy, with a specific consideration for trigger points, helps locate and release them to relieve pain and restore function.

Get in touch if you are struggling with movement and discomfort, soft tissue work will really help you.

Looking forward to joining Calne SMaRTT tomorrow, for their SMaRTT Smasher event, an off road 10k running challenge and fun run. Excited to see existing clients and to meet new faces.

Find me in the event space, where I’ll be available, offering free pre and post event massage for runners. Pre-event massage warms up muscles and enhances circulation, while post-event massage aids recovery by reducing soreness and promoting relaxation.

Good luck runners 💥🏃‍♀️🏅🏃‍♂️

As a sports & remedial massage therapist, my goal isn’t just to help you feel better during our sessions—it’s to empower you to take care of your body every day. A few simple self-care techniques make a huge difference.

Foam rolling - use a foam roller on large muscle groups like quads, hamstrings, calves and back. Slowly roll over the muscle, pausing on any tight or sore spots for 20–30 seconds.

Tennis ball or massage ball release - place a tennis ball or massage ball under tight areas such as glutes, shoulders, feet. Lean into the ball and use your body weight to apply pressure, holding for 20–30 seconds.

Hand and finger kneading - use your hands, thumbs, and fingers to knead and apply pressure to tight muscles of the neck, shoulders, forearms, etc. Apply circular motions or gentle pinching to release tension.

If self-massage isn’t enough to relieve your tension, I’m here to help with hands-on treatment tailored to your needs.
