On 2nd September, Beth is flying out to Spain to attempt to complete The Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in aid of St John Ambulance Nottingham. This will not be easy for her as she lives with CRPS Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome) in her knees and has minimal blood flow to her left foot as her blood vessels are connected the wrong way round.

We had a fantastic day at the Police Mini Fun Day with Nottinghamshire Police Nottinghamshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner - thank you to everyone who paid us a visit and learnt about bandaging wounds and delivering CPR. Always a pleasure to see our police colleagues too! Looking forward to the next Fun Day at Melbourne Park, Aspley on 14th June 🤩

It’s not all first aid… sometimes we’re just there to help someone less quick on their feet getting back to their coach, or look after a dog while someone grabs a coffee 💚

Our volunteers have had a busy week! Before the weekend we visited South Nottinghamshire Academy, where we had fantastic engagement and provided hands-on CPR training to an incredible 137 young people in a day! Thank you to everyone who learnt how to save a life.

Over the weekend we provided cover at Notts County Football Club and University of Nottingham events, and today we were in the Old Market Square for Nottingham St Patrick’s day festival, where we also handed out lots of ‘save a life’ pocket guides.

We still have opportunities to join us as a First Aider or Youth Helper - go to sja.org.uk/volunteer, and on the ‘Find an opportunity’ page just enter ‘Nottingham’ as the location - or drop us a PM for a chat!
