Thinking about booking a deep tissue massage but not sure what to expect? Here’s a little guide to help you feel prepared.
During your treatment:
Deep tissue massage uses slow, firm pressure to target deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. You may feel areas of tension being worked through — it can feel intense at times, but it should always be a “good pain,” not unbearable. Communication is key, so I’ll always adjust the pressure to suit you.
After your treatment:
✔️ You may feel immediate relief and improved movement
✔️ Some mild soreness (similar to post-workout ache) is completely normal for 24–48 hours
✔️ You might feel very relaxed or even a little tired
To get the most from your massage:
Drink plenty of water
Take a warm bath or shower
Do gentle stretching
Allow your body time to rest
Deep tissue massage is amazing for chronic tension, tight shoulders, lower back pain, and stress-related muscle tightness.
