We are really excited to be celebrating www.nationalplaylistday.org here at Arlington Manor tomorrow as part of our monthly Memory Cafe with information, activities and a wonderful musical performance.
Our excellent Dementia Care Manager Shannon, explains why Playlist for Life is so important to us at Arlington Manor, and to those people affected by dementia:
"At Arlington Manor, we use Playlist for Life because we believe in the powerful connection between music and memory. For residents living with dementia, music is more than just entertainment — it's a pathway to the past, a source of comfort, and a tool for meaningful engagement.
Personalised playlists help unlock memories, spark emotional responses, and encourage engagement, even in those who may struggle with verbal communication.
We've witnessed remarkable transformations: residents who were previously withdrawn have begun singing, smiling, and interacting with others.
Playlist for Life allows us to see the person behind the diagnosis, helping our residents feel seen, heard, and valued."
Friday 19th September is . Create the soundtrack of your life and celebrate the power of personally meaningful music for dementia. Make your own playlist at nationalplaylistday.org
