CBeebies Week - Spring Term 2 🦁

We had so much fun this week exploring our favourite CBeebies friends, in a very messy way!

We enjoyed scooping with Alphablock ‘A’, cutting RaaRaa the noisy lions mane and having a splash in the water play.

Our Spring Term continues next week with our Mothers Day theme session.

Little Mess may look like fun—and it is! But did you know your little one is learning so much through play without even realising it? ✨

Through messy play they’re discovering colours, textures and sounds while building independence, confidence and curiosity. Every scoop, splash and squish encourages exploration, decision making and social skills.

They’re also developing important physical skills like hand–eye coordination, pincer grasp and fine motor skills—all while having the best time getting messy! 🎨🫧

Nursery Rhyme Week – Spring Term 2 🐸🐑🐟

A lovely start to our new term! We had so much fun exploring our favourite nursery rhymes this morning. The children enjoyed scooping the speckled frog’s slimy pond, giving Baa Baa Black Sheep a haircut, and smashing Humpty Dumpty’s wall!

We also practised counting to 5 with our fish friends and were very excited to meet Incy Wincy Spider — we even had fun “eating” his web! 🕷️

There was plenty more fun to be had in the water play and painting areas too. What a fantastic first session of term!

I've had a few messages about trying Little Mess before booking a term, so I've just opened up a few PAYG spaces for this Wednesday's session at Rugeley Cricket Club.

Price Update Announcement 📣

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but from 1st April our standard session prices will increase slightly by £1.50 a session.

From this date:
• Little Mess sessions will be £11.50

✔️ Siblings prices remain at half price
✔️ 2 FREE adults/non playing older siblings per booking

Any sessions at Little Mess with additional extras or special guests will be priced separately and may vary.

Over the past year we have worked hard to absorb rising costs — including foods/tray fillers, new equipment, room hire, water and electricity costs required to clean equipment etc. However, with two of our venues increasing their hire charges from April, we unfortunately have no choice but to make a small adjustment to our prices. We simply can’t absorb any further increases ourselves.

To help you plan ahead and be as fair as possible to you, all events up to the end of August are now on the website (with the exception of August summer holiday weekday sessions) at our current prices, giving you the opportunity to secure your spaces at the current, lower price before the April increase.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support — it truly means the world to us.

Did you know your little one’s confidence can grow through messy play? 🫧

Messy play encourages open-ended exploration, where there’s no right or wrong way to create. Children are free to scoop, pour, paint, mix, and experiment without the fear of “getting it wrong.”

This freedom builds confidence. It teaches them to trust their ideas, try new things, and feel proud of what they create. ✨

Messy play also supports social development, as children play alongside others, communicate, share, and collaborate.

Farmyard Frolics 🐮 🐑 🐷

We had so much fun at our first session at Mavesyn Ridware on Sunday!

We met the farm animals, splashed about with the frogs, explored lots of different textures, and practiced scooping, pouring and our pincer grasp. The little ones also got very creative in the painting area, even painting themselves!
