At times we all worry about our health and that’s completely normal.

For some people these worries become persistent and start to take over their lives.

Health anxiety is relatively common with approximately 5% of the population being diagnosed and many more without a diagnosis.

Health anxiety may involve…
•Obsessively researching symptoms
•Constantly checking your body for signs of illness
•Needing constant reassurance from others that you are ok
•Seeking second opinions
•Misinterpreting physical sensations as serious illness
•Avoiding activities because you think you are ill

You are not over reacting but your primitive mind has taken over causing a heightened fight-flight-freeze response, which is just trying to keep you safe.

Heightened anxiety can then lead to physical symptoms like headaches, fatigue, nausea, palpitations, stomach cramps and shortness of breath. These symptoms add to worries that there is something physically wrong.

Solution focused hypnotherapy can help you break this cycle and enable you to feel more in control.

To be amazing you must….
😩ensure your house is spotlessly clean at all times
😩always say yes to extra work
😩go to that new gym class
😩help out with the PTA
😩ride your horse everyday
😩always say ‘yes’

But really?? Just maybe….you might benefit from taking some things out of your life!
So….
😊Say no to that extra overtime
😊Cancel coffee with your ‘fun sponge’ friend
😊Turn down that drunken night out
😊Leave the washing to pile up for a few days
😊Unfollow that person who annoys you intensely
😊Turn off social media for a few days
😊Say ‘no’ and don’t feel guilty

Sometimes, less is more.
Decide what is right for you.

In sessions with my clients we always spend a little bit of time focusing on the ‘miracle question’.

This technique encourages clients to imagine small achievable goals towards their desired future.

Clients can find this quite difficult at first, but with guidance and practise they are able to move away from the problem and become experts at using their imagination for positive change.

It is a long term tool that clients can utilise even after our sessions have finished.

Earlier this week I sat down and asked myself…
“What would be different if I woke up and felt a little happier?”
“What would I be doing differently?”
So… my achievable small step towards riding my horses more effectively and getting back to training was to get back in the gym. Even though I set my target at just going once, I have been three times already this week 🤗
As a result I’ve climbed one step towards my desired future and feel so much better- Simple hey?

I wonder what my small achievable goal for next week will be? I wonder what yours would be?

When I tell people that I’m a hypnotherapist, I receive a wide variety of interesting reactions, some people believe that I have some sort of superpower that is going to miraculously extinguish any problem they might have.. (I wish!)
I often hear things like “Amazing! can you hypnotise me to give up chocolate?”, “can you make me lose weight?”, “can you make me exercise?”
Well… sadly the answer is no, I don’t have any sort of superpower to control your behaviour… or mind… just a set of skills that I have learnt during my training to help you function in the best part of your brain and therefore achieve a better outcome! Sadly I can’t wave a magic wand to relieve you of stress and worries, but hypnotherapy can be a helpful tool to get you on the right path!
I also didn’t have to practice having a relaxing voice during trance, it’s JUST my voice but because your brain loves the repetition it tends to find it rather relaxing ☺️

Sometimes we get in the cycle of thinking things like..
🕰️ life will be better when I have more money
🕰️ life will be better when I have a bigger house
🕰️ life will be better when I have more time
🕰️ life will be better when…………….

Thinking like this means that we spend so much of our time hoping for better things and wanting to be somewhere else. This means that we can overlook the importance of living in the present time and enjoying EVERY moment!
When you live in the moment you can really start to appreciate the little things, meaning you will feel stronger, more positive and much happier.
So, say “yes” to those opportunities when they come up, make plans for tomorrow and be the person you are meant to be 🥰
