QUICK UPDATE ON COACH TOMS BULK! 💪
So I'm now 6 months in to a bulk, has it been perfect, absolutely not! Lol. It's not usually my go to in health and fitness and over the years I've only gone through a few bulk phases ( I'm an endurance / kickboxing athlete first ). However it's been a good learning curve and I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life currently 😳.
Pros to the last 6 months:
✅ Feeling stronger, pushing heavier
✅ Punching harder, lol
✅ Looking better in some tshirts XD
✅ Added muscle, but not loads, I'd say there's a tad to much added extra fat there for when I've gone off track a tad ( the shred will show all )
✅ The wife says she prefers it, not sure what to think of that tbh, lol.
✅ I've stuck to creatine every day since the start, haven't missed to many days.
Cons to the last 6 months:
⛔️ I'm not a fan of the added weight to my love handles and gut.
⛔️ I have found eating a surplus hard at times and as always, the protein levels are hard work, as disciplined as i am, it gets tough for sure, and I like carbs more, just like most 😅
⛔️ I can actually feel the weight in everyday life, I get used to it a bit and then go back to feeling it again, and that's effected transitions in other fitness elements and my back has ached from the front end load! Maybe dirty bulk has come in to play a bit to much at times.
⛔️ I'm not a fan of what I'm seeing in the mirror as I'm used to being lean, but I'm not crying about it either, bulks a bulk!
⛔️ I'm hotter, and I mean temperature wise XD. I certainly felt more warm with these extras layers on these past few months lol.
⛔️ All my clothes feel tight and horrible, I've gone from wearing medium easy enough in the main, to XL, but haven't bought any extra clothes because, why waste 😆
⛔️ And lastly, my cardio sucks, which I'm not used to, having done lots of cardio specific training over the last decade. Again though, I expected this as I'm putting my available training hours more so into the weights.
SO WHAT HAPPENS FROM HERE:
I said to myself I was going to stick to it this time, and I have. I said I'd go to around July and then start a cut, along side adding back in cardio to prepare for the World Championships in October. I'm currently phasing into this and will continue towards July to see what happens. When I started this last Oct, I thought I'd push towards 90kg if I could, to feel it out, again, I've never really been heavier than 80kg and even then it was because of a holiday or xmas period etc haa, so 90 kg I feel like is a good goal, but I can't see the muscle loading on any faster between now and then, so we'll see what happens :). I'm sure what will suck more, this bulk, or the shred that I keep avoiding to think about 🤣

Any questions, please fire away. Keep crushing those goals Champs!
