Please be aware this issue may impact how the GP’s can contact you. When calling for an appointment you may be asked for your landline number as well as your mobile number. Thank You for your understanding.

A national issue is currently impacting calls to mobile numbers from extension numbers. Incoming calls and outgoing calls to landlines are unaffected.

Patients expecting calls may experience delays or may receive calls from a withheld or blocked number.

This national issue is currently being investigated with relevant telecoms companies to be resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Year 8 to Year 11 pupils who missed out on receiving the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in school can access community catch-up clinics on Monday 21st July 2025.

It is essential that both boys and girls receive the vaccine, as it offers protection against several types of cancer such as cervical cancer, head and neck cancer, cancers of the a**s and ge***al cancer.

The HPV vaccine is also very effective at preventing ge***al warts.

Details for the catch-up clinics are as follows:

🔹 9am-1pm, Barry Hospital, Colcot Road, Barry CF62 8YH

🔹 9am-1pm, Rumney Primary Care Centre, Barmouth Road, Cardiff CF3 3LG

These clinics are appointment-only, so please contact the School Immunisation Team on 02920 907661/664 to make an appointment for your child.

NHS Wales empowers public with free diabetes prevention and management apps.

Three new apps are now available across Wales to help prevent type 2 diabetes and support people living with the condition ,complementing the successful face-to-face programme already helping over 10,000 people.

As part of the Tackling Diabetes Together Programme, the apps offer personalised tools, expert advice, and peer support, and all free to access.

You will have seen in the media recently that Prescriptions for Mounjaro jabs, to help people lose weight, are available at GP surgeries in *England* only from today.

Currently in Wales you cannot gain access to a prescription for Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) or any other injectable medications available for weighloss directly from your GP Surgery in Wales.

Under NHS Wales guidelines it's only available through specialist weight management services (with a current 3 year waiting list!), but the Welsh government is considering other arrangements in the future 🤔More: https://bbc.in/4eii2IL
