It is with so much love and tenderness that we share this news 🤍
After 10 beautiful, transformative years, Yurt in the City will be closing its doors.
A place for healing, connection, circles, sound, stillness, laughter and tears. A space where practitioners found their voice and confidence, and where so many people came exactly as they were and felt met.
Over the years we’ve been held and supported by incredible people and places. Thank you to everyone at The Boneyard, where this dream first took root. To Meanwhile House for the chapters we’ve written within your walls. To every practitioner who has offered their gifts inside the yurt you are the heartbeat of what this space became. And to every single person who stepped through the door for a class, a treatment, a ceremony, a workshop, a conversation you are woven into this story.
With rising rent and increasing business costs, it has simply become unsustainable to continue. This decision has not been made lightly. There is grief here, but also immense gratitude.
We especially want to honour Marcos, our founder and the visionary who brought Yurt in the City into existence. Marcos created more than a physical structure, he created a feeling. A refuge. A place rooted in warmth, inclusivity and possibility. His belief in community, in healing, and in the power of gathering shaped the spirit of the yurt from the very beginning.
After Marcos passed, the loss was deeply felt by so many of us. In the midst of their own profound grief, Abi and Rowan, his wife and son, showed extraordinary generosity. They kindly allowed practitioners to continue holding space in the yurt, keeping its heart beating while they navigated life without him. That gift given during such a tender time is something we will never forget.
Spaces like this don’t really close. They ripple out through the people they’ve touched. They evolve. They seed new beginnings.
Thank you for ten years of magic, courage, community and growth. The canvas may come down, but what was created here will always live on 🤍
