✨Giving and receiving treatments while fasting✨

💆‍♀️Have you ever wandered about giving or receiving treatments while fasting....👣

🧕Being a Muslim practitioner I’m privileged to have experienced both giving and receiving treatments while fasting⏱
This blessed experience led me to dig deep and research the safety aspect around treating someone who is fasting🧐.

💆‍♀️As far as receiving treatments goes I found massage and aromatherapy treatments are best received early part of the day⏱

🛐This depends on the length of time the fasting day is, in some parts of the world fasting time is 12 hours and other parts is longer, so is best to check where you are🌍. Here in the UK🇬🇧the day is extremely long when Ramadan is in the summer☀️ and really short when Ramadan is in the winter❄️.

☪️In my practice I give treatments to the fasting clients as close to the start of their fast as I possible⏱.

🕌I invite my clients who will be fasting to book a treatment or two just before Ramadan to set them up✨.

☪️Then I block off some morning appointments especially for my fasting clients who attend weekly⏱

⏳If they are unavailable for mornings I offer them aromatherapy product🌿 for home use and self massage💆‍♀️option until they are able to attend.

☪️I also move all maintenance appointments that may fall into Ramadan either side of Ramadan, this really helps my schedule and allows fair booking for all🌙.

👣Reflexology treatments are a special case because we know the treatment leads to a drop in glucose levels as well as the dehydration risk. Therefore, I only give reflexology treatment to a fasting client just before they break their fast👣

☪️Ramadan clinic hours- the clinic closes early so I can prepare for breaking my own fast. Evening appointments are paused, number of clients booked per day is reduced and I take the last 10 days and eid day off✨

💆‍♀️These changes help me support and nurture my own health and well-being and allows me time to focus on my spiritual health and preserve energy for worship 🛐

Do you make any special changes to your schedule for Ramadan?

✨Did you know I’m a Reflexologist?🤔

👣Well... I was planning to update my followers about the Reflexology treatments I was going to offer in 2020!

🧐2020? I meant the pandemic year... ooh and 2021!

✅qualified in clinical reflexology 🥳 in 2019 when COVID-19 was found in Wuhan🇨🇳 and here I am announcing it over a year later.

👣Meeting my clients where they are is so important to me🤗so when the pandemic hit it was not the right time to announce new treatments they can’t even book🤷‍♀️

💫I think now is the best time to introduce reflexology as we look forward to opening our treatment rooms😊🙌

Slowing down....
Half term? Well... it’s already Wednesday and I’m still recovering from the amount of screen time during homeschooling!

☕️I literally feel like today is the first day of half term for me....

Today I am practicing self compassion💞🤗💧sipping away my ☕️coffee and inhaling the aroma of my favourite 🌱essential oil; 🌹rose Otto.

Cwtch is a blend of Cardamom, Sweet Orange and Patchouli.

Cardamom has a unique flavour and is valued on par with some of the world’s most expensive spices like, saffron and vanilla. Cardamom oil is described as a gentle tonic of the nervous system to help alleviate nervous exhaustion and dispel worrying thoughts. Is recommended for when you need motivation, clarity, courage and confidence. According to Mojay, cardamom helps to restore our ‘appetite for life’.

Sweet Orange has a refreshing and cheerful aroma which gives radiant inner warmth and joy. The properties of sweet orange has a positive and joyful influence on mood, anxiety, nervousness and insomnia.

Patchouli – It’s rich, sweet, aromatic spicy and woody balsamic aids grounding, centring and harmonises the mind to sooth agitation. Holmes described patchouli as ‘sensory integrator’. Calms and stabilises constantly active and overthinking minds.

A cwtch is a special cuddle/hug shared by close individuals wrapped in a overflowing joy and love felt as a comforting tight squeeze during a emotionally significant embrace, giving a safe, loving and comforting space in a pair of arms. In Wales people often say “Hugs are for everyone; cwtches are only for a few, very special people in my life.”

It’s a safe space, something that takes you back to your childhood, something that makes you feel warm – not just physically but emotionally.” (Eifion Griffiths). It is the wrapping of your arms around someone to make them feel safe in the world.

Combining the properties and personalities of the oils in the blend with the feelings and emotions evoked by the word cwtch, makes ‘Cwtch’ the perfect name for this blend. The meaning and connotations of the word ‘cwtch’ makes a remarkably balanced similarities with the effects of these oils on the mind, ‘Cwtch’ symbolises the effect the blend has on the body and mind. This blend is dedicated to those moments when you need a cwtch. Reaching for your Cwtch roll-on aromatherapy blend on the go can help you feel calm and grounded in harmony. This synergy helps you feel safe, loved, warm and comforted.

🌟Let’s of kick off our introduction to the bespoke blends with ‘Sakeenah’ (inner peace and serenity)✨

The Arabic language best conveys the meaning of a state of calm, serenity and inner peace in the word ‘sakeenah’.
Sakeenah blend contains benzoin, geranium, mandarin and May chang essential oils blended in a hydrating and nourishing jojoba and apricot kernel carrier oils.

💧Benzoin historically referred to as the Easten frankincense by Arab traders, is a sweet and warm resinous oil. Ideal for times of change and worries, may help focus the mind for meditation or prayer, is comforting, alleviates anxiety, nervous tension and stress.
💧Geranium is calming and beneficial for both acute and chronic anxiety associated with nervous exhaustion.
💧Mandarin- has a calming effect on the the nervous system, alleviates insomnia and soothes restlessness.
💧May chang known as an ‘emotional detoxifier’ (Holmes), recommended to alleviate anxiety and stress. May chang has an expansive and claritying effect on the psyche.

🌟If you would like to try bespoke aromatherapy blends to support your well-being, you might like this blend to help you copy with the challenge of change, uncertainty and worries.

➡️Tomorrow I’ll be introducing the second blend in the roll-on blends. In the mean time DM me if you would like to discuss a bespoke roll-on blend to meet your needs and aroma preferences.

Warm winter blend💞
The start of a new week, although we didn’t get to play with snow yesterday we are definitely feeling the cold weather!

I’m diffusing black pepper and cardamom in my favourite diffuser. I had this companion for 9 years and stilling working as good as new. We are using personal aroma inhalers and roll-on blends to help with concentration and focus. Since having the children at home all day I have to adapt and vary how I use essential oils at home.
I’m conscious of exhausting their sensitive olfactory system and essential oil safety for children. Hence why I prefer aroma inhalers/roll-on and massage oils as a mode of application for children.
They can have individual blends targeting individually specific needs. I can blend different aroma and concentrations accordingly.

Let me know in the comments what is your favourite warm winter blend and how you use your blend.
