Although Remembrance Sunday has already happened, it is Remembrance Day today. This is another opportunity to remember those who have died serving in the line of duty and to help out those affected by these deaths.

Being a funeral director that arranges military funerals, along with one of our directors having served in the military, this is something that we are passionate about. If you could donate to the Poppy Appeal, even if it is just a couple of pounds, it all goes a long way and helps those who need it in the short and long term. The link below will take you to the Royal British Legion website where you can send your donation. Again, any amount of money helps and if you can’t, try and participate in the two-minute silence at 11:00am today in honour of our fallen soldiers.

At Ivor Thomas Funerals, we are tired of the roundabout outside our office in the Heath looking so derelict. We have contacted the council about it and they have done nothing. We think that it is not only causing a hazard when using it but also not representing the values of the local community.

We will be trying to get in contact with local councillors to see if they can entice the council to sort it out and will keep the local community informed of any developments that we see.

If, in the meantime, you could sign the petition below to try and get as many people to back us, that would be much appreciated!

Here is another one of Neil’s hand-spun keepsakes called the Hugh Keepsake. Made from a single branch of a Cherry tree which is grown and purchased in South Wales. It is beautifully simplistic with a design that emphasises the natural look of the grain.
