MEET THE TEAM TUESDAY!!!

Introducing......Sue!!!

Being the mother of Mark and Sarah along with being the wife (boss) of Neil, Sue is a main part of the Ivor Thomas Funerals Family. Although not in the office often, she raises everyone’s morale whenever she is around. Sue’s amazing looking floral tributes each have their own personal touch and is why we ask her to help arrange any flowers that are present at our funerals by default. With her incredible knowledge of flowers and her dedication in getting the tributes looking perfect, she is a favourite among the families that we help. When she’s not working hard on flowers, she enjoys baking and decorating elaborate cakes (which we all enjoy eating), perfecting her gardening, and spending quality time with her two grandchildren, Bella and Evan. Sue’s role and presence within the company cannot be understated and is a key member of the Ivor Thomas Family.

MEET THE TEAM TUESDAY!!!

Introducing......Neil!!!

Since starting Ivor Thomas Funerals, Neil has been one of the major driving forces of the business. A chippy by trade, he then went on to spend 9 years serving in the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers and with his understanding of the aftereffects it can have of serving in the forces, he is the reason why we offer military funerals. He brings a seasoned perspective, often thinking of creative solutions to problems that stump the rest of us and is key to making sure our employees are trained and working to the high standard that we hold ourselves to. He is, in no uncertain terms, the director who induces the discipline and smartness into our operatives on the funeral. In his free time, he enjoys working with his hands, usually making changes to his garden (at Sue’s behest!). Neil pushes himself and will move heaven and earth to not let anyone down.

MEET THE TEAM TUESDAY!!!

Introducing......Mark!!!

Many may already know Mark due to his involvement with every area of the company. After working at Thornhill Crematorium, Mark noticed how some areas within the funeral industry didn't always act in the families' best interests and wanted to provide a service which had that at the heart of the company. With the support from his dad, they started Ivor Thomas Funerals in 2019 and it is now one of the best rated funeral companies in Cardiff. Other than running a funeral home, Mark speaks Russian, enjoys spending time with his two small children and is a trained therapist. He may only (currently) have half a smile, but he has a whole lot of care and professionalism.

Due to public demand and changes within Ivor Thomas Funerals, we are bringing back Meet the Team Tuesdays!!!!!

For those who don't know, we will dedicate a post every Tuesday to a member of staff which will give you a more personal insight into who they are.

This is an effort to build better relationships with the families that walk through our door before we officially meet them.

The first post will be Tuesday the 8th July where we will be giving Mark the spotlight.

Natasha, a member of the Ivor Thomas Family, is adventuring outside their comfort zone and performing stand-up comedy for the first time in order to raise money for SANDS.

SANDS is a stillbirth and neonatal death charity which helps those who have had to go through the awful experience of losing a baby. They also fund research to try and prevent as many of these deaths as possible.

It was a wonderful experience working with Age Cymru and being able to enhance people's knowledge of the funeral industry.

It was also very comforting that we were able to have such a detailed and thought-provoking conversation about death and how it affects those around it.
